TheGayTent
True, but to my mind fergie still shows a deference towards the club in a way I've not ever seen from moaniho and can't see him ever managing to do. TheGayTent
From a personal point of view I hope Moyes gets it. Would enjoy seeing Man Utd struggle (relatively) for a while
eFestivals
Remember Mourinho has been pretty respectful towards Fergie and Man Utd in the past compared to what he's said about other managers and clubs...perhaps part of the plan to get the job sometime in the future?oh, I'd definitely say he was like that because getting the Utd job was on his radar.I still find it almost impossible to see him getting the job tho. I just don't think he's the right fit.And I'm not entirely sure he'd want it either when push comes to shove - not right now. As I've already posted it's a bit of a poisoned chalice because whoever takes the job is going to be under much more pressure for success from the fans than fergie has been for the last 20+ years. pink_triangle
Too many things about mourinio make me think he isn't the right fit. Man u need someone to carry on fergie work, mourinio is the man you need for a shake up. Mourinio has divided the Madrid squad, particularly falling out with casillas, he recently said his main regret at Madrid was not bringing in lopez earlier which was a clear attack on the spanish captain. Man u don't want a personality who clashes with big personalities. He is also still prone to pr blunders which doesn't fit with man u who are possibly the most corporate team in world football. Also I don't see why chelsea would play along with his recent hints about a return to stamford bridge for him to then go to a rival and make them look weak. eFestivals
Goal don't have any sources. They're a slightly smarter version of Caught Offside. He probably will be manager though.that's the thing, any site or newspaper can take a pretty easy punt on one of two managers, and stand around a 50% chance of being right and then being able to say "we told you so". If they get it wrong it will be very quickly forgotten without any damage to their reputation, no different to the thousands of wrong transfer rumours published every season. Then again, as someone who is used to picking apart what might just be speculative stories to try and work out if there's really any substance behind them, I'd say there's a decent chance of there being something to this one.It goes further than it needs to do by saying the players have been told it's Moyes, etc, and usually (for non-footie stories, anyway) the inclusion of finer details like that tends to mean it's coming from 'a source' of some kind rather than being just something they've made up in the newsroom.Of course, nothing of that means that the source is accurate, but I'd say there is a source behind this story. eFestivals
PS: then again, perhaps things work differently in the footie reporting world. I'm applying the sort of ideas I use when looking at festival rumours.
Ed209
Darren Fletcher, the 5Live reporter rather than the footballer, has tweeted Moyes to be announced in next 48 hours
pink_triangle
I'm not sure whether he will be succesful but think moyes has done enough to deserve an opportunity at a bigger club, its up to him if he takes it. I think there is a tendency to look down on British managers but I think with the right opportunities they can be just as good as foreign counterparts. If someone like rodgers has a track record to attract a team like Liverpool, i think moyes track record deserves one of the bigger jobs. lost
just waiting to see who goes with him now. Guess Baines is nailed on.. Oh well the decline starts here, the last line of defence the board had is now gone. still suprised though, wonder what the share price will do when the market opens
TheGayTent
Seems laughable now that a short time ago MON was tipped as the right and likely successor to Ferguson.

The Nal
Are Moyes and O'Neil that much different though? Now comparisons seem a bit harsh on Moyes, but a couple of years ago it was viewed the other way round...
kaosmark2
Considering how late Moyes has left signing a contract this season makes me sure it's him. Probably received word on the sly about this opportunity. It'd explain all the "I'll assess the state of the club and my situation at the end of the season" bollocks. I don't see anything about Everton's position that's different from previous times his contract's been expiring.

RobertProsineckisLighter
Moyes, I'm not sure he is the right fit, but time will tell i guess. I dont think Fellaini is an inspiring first signing. Baines would excite me if i was a Man Utd fan, the guy is class.

kaosmark2
I don't think Fellaini is the midfielder Man U need. Good player on his day but horribly inconsistent and plays further forward than the players Man U need. They've got Kagawa/Rooney who can link between midfield and striker, and they don't always use a hole player.
Jackmypie
The Pompey board are suggesting that your annual wage budget is £1million quid. Any truth in this? Apprently Breatford have the lowest wage bill in league one. Just goes to show you what can be done on a budget. The new Wembley is amazing.. enjoy it. Dont make too much of a mess for our return!
