Really pleased he's got a six year deal, but was looking through Fergies record, and wondering whether Moyes would get the same chance.

In the five seasons before Fergie came in, they finished top four, in the six seasons after, they only finished in the top four twice and it took them four seasons to win anything. Utd are obviously in a bit of a tight financial position, and I wonder whether he'd be given that much of a chance.

Of course.

Despite the business executives doing their best to belittle the competition it's still the football day I look forward to most every year.

Should be the last game of the English football season, no other games should be played on Cup Final day, and that day should be a Saturday with a 3 o'clock kick off.

Amazing stat I have heard a few time in the last week, 15 years ago the bottom 5 teams in the league now known as league 2 were hull, Cardiff, Swansea, brighton and doncaster. Its amazing how football can change so much in a relatively short period in time.

I can't really get excited about it, but I'll watch it, because it's the cup final. I remember growing up and it was one of 3 matches a season I actually knew about in advance (the others being the derbies). It's largely a nostalgia thing for when it meant something rather than enjoying it now. I'm so saddened by how much it's been gutted by business execs and TV producers.
