Football 2012-2013

It's because they're from a tinpot rugby town that get poor crowds (compared to the league average).

Of course if you look at the town population, the catchment area, the fact they've only been a league club since 71(?) it could be argued their crowds are fantastic.

I don't care much either way. The plus for me, is that it's another shit, plastic, flat pack, sited on a retail park, football ground out of the league.

Then again, that's exactly what they're being replaced with in Hull and Cardiff. At least Palace and Watford have old style grounds I guess.

Why the negativity towards Wigan? Yes they're a small club, yes Dave Whelan is a bellend (by the way, did you hear, he broke his leg in the FA cup final. You might have missed that story). But they are well run, live within their means(as far as i know) and the fans they have are pretty loyal. considering how close much bigger teams are answer they do play attractive football considering what a lot of teams in their position might do

With Wigan relegated and Moyes and Fergie leaving the average tenure of a premiership manager is going to be significantly reduced next season. Only 2 (Wenger and Pullis) are what I would call long standing managers and the latter could also decide he has taken stoke as far as he could. Im not even sure who will have the next longest reign with their club, maybe Alladyce?

Loic Remy arrested on suspicion of assault? QPR will be pissed - probably the only player they bought you they would have thought they stood a good chance of making a profit on. Possibly their one success story in terms of recent purchases.

I think Rafas reign has been a bit of a mixed bag. Champions league qualification and Europa league are positives. However the league cup was there for the taking and maybe Chelsea should have put on a better fight for the title, I think (my memory often fails, so correct me if wrong) they were within touching distance of man utd when he took over.

When It comes to the Europa league a trophy is a trophy, however it shouldn't be ignored that the only reason they were in the competition was failure under the previous manager in the champions league which moved them from a tournament with other financial superpowers to one where they had a huge financial advantage. Their wage bill was probably double that of anyone they faced. So from one perspective you could say they should have won the thing, but at least they took it relatively seriously unlike the 2 Manchester teams last year.

Well done Rafa. European trophies with 3 different clubs. Wish him all the best wherever he goes next.

They were, but also were on the slide. His win ratio is better than RDM's overall anyway (including last season). When you consider they came sixth last year, and the amount of games they have played, plus how nobody wanted him there... It's a job well done really.

Edit: Saw this on twitter, Chelsea averaged 2 points a game under Di Matteo this season. 1.92 under Rafa. Would be a difference of 3 pts over a season.
