yup, I have a soft spot for Liverpool, I used to support them as kid.

But I don't believe I've ever posted that I don't like Everton (and if I have, it's likely to only have been to wind you up) because I've got a soft spot for them too. I love the way they've got a habit of taking points of the teams of fans who like to believe that they're invulnerable.

What I said remains true. It's a blip, and even you know it.

Everton are boring, their season goes as follows, without fail:

Moan in transfer window about lack of funds.

Win a couple of games early season to be upper-mid-table.

Go on steadily worsening run until sinking to around 16th/17th. Blame injuries for this.

Flirt around the relegation places, blaming injuries and lack of funds.

Around January/February, win a game against a big team.

Follow that up with a good run of form leading to people talking about a push for Europe, along with speculation about how great they'd be if they ever got much investment. Lots of articles and blogs about how Moyes is the best manager in the world.

Fall short of a European place (usually), blame early season injuries and overall lack of investment.

See if there's anything ridiculous happening at Liverpool to laugh about.

Repeat.

Every few seasons, sell a player for a stupid amount of money, and follow that up by wasting it on a proven striker who'll have a good run, then get injured, then never score a goal for Everton again, until he gets sold and starts scoring again.

Apart from that one season where they didn't screw up around October/November time as badly and pulled off 4th spot, that's been the story every season. There's not much more to say about them. Liverpool's crazy fluctuations, will-they-won't-they regarding a new stadium, revamping the squad, spending a lot of money, revamping the squad, not spending money is far more entertaining.

Exactly, that's pretty much it, although we normally start playing well circa late Nov early Dec and the Strikers we move on are normally shit were they end up too.

Im hoping this year with Jelavic there from the start that we may start pretty well, but as you say, the chance of him gettting injured and scoring about 3 goals in the rest of his time at the club does seem far more likely

Which only gets to show that the truth hurts.

If you actually managed to say something properly cutting it would be better, but "they're shit" continually when you know your own club is just as shit is as shit as it gets.

Very pleased that we're making signings before transfer deadline day. IF we can get rvp to stay then our forward line is much stronger than laast season. Now to get rid of the deadwood in the squad, there a lot that need to go.

As for Wilshire, i agree that there's a lot for him still to prove. For a start a year out of the game so early in his career will certainly have set him back a bit. You can see why the hype though, as he brings something to the england team that no other player around at the moment does.

I think Wilshire looks different from most English players which is always useful, whether he can perform consistently at the top level time will tell. I just find it irritating how the media talk about him like he is wesley sneijder then talk about Balotelli like he is just an average premiership striker when both are in the potential to be great category but have significant work to do, in fact I would say Balotelli is ahead of Wilshire in terms of big game perfomances so far but is probably a bit older as well.

It seems to be the case that Liverpool don't want to stump up the high wages he's trying to get. From those reports it looks possible that the agreement with Spurts is more a negotiating position against Liverpool than something that is definitely going to happen.

'Spurts' - that was a typo. But given how their recent seasons have panned out then it's a very apt typo.

This all started with you laughing at Liverpool on the false basis that a player has chosen Spurts above them (the player has yet to make his choice).

I then simply pointed out that it's worse at Everton for their players choosing Spurts over Everton - another statement of fact.

You then mis-represented that fact, which I corrected you about - another statement of fact.

But I'm the one whose doing everything wrong. Yeah, OK. PMSL.

It's a statement of fact that Everton are a shitter club than Liverpool. The only real problem here is that you don't like to hear that truth.

Am I right in thinking that there's new owner tests & rules that come into force this year for the Champs?

If that's the case then my reading of that news is that it's just another scam by Bates to keep the real ownership hidden.

You're an Everton fan, continually taking a pop at Liverpool with every opportunity you can, just because you don't like Everton being 2nd best within Liverpool, which they are continually.

And yet often what you criticise Liverpool for, Everton are far worse for (such as this time) - thus proving the very point which drives you to always want to have a pop at Liverpool.

So it ends up with you showing Everton up as worse by your own words, and I just state it back at you with clear words.

The only defence of Liverpool you can muster. 'Yeah but Everton are worse' ... pretty sad how far the red men have fallen, when comparing them to Everton is the only way to not make them look utterly shit

Not really. The whole point of your anti-Liverpool posts is you wanting to believe &/or present Everton as better.
