Free beer and burger provided by the festival for weekend ticket holders

I was talking to a guy who runs a catering firm who specialises in wraps at festivals, he said that he is giving Leeds a miss this year as they wanted £6k for a pitch, he said other catering firms are not very happy about this free food business so I would guess that is why they have had to change from a burger to breakfast bap.

Not impressed that it's changed to bacon bap and only available from 2 outlets. Don't get me wrong...I know it's free and so I shouldn't complain, but one of my mates is vegan, so none of the breakfast options are suitable for her. At least before the scheme changed, she had the veggi burger available.

Also, it's a bit harsh to expect people to trek across the campsites early each morning. Surely they could Have put an outlet in each campsite..? I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth or anything...it's just that the bacon bap thing is a bit of a letdown after the beer and burger promise.

The intention is obviously to do it as cheap as possible. Lots of people won't bother claiming this as it isn't in their camp/they dont want to queue/ they wanted a veg option etc and using only 2 very large points will be a lot easier and cost effective for them to manage.

I don't think other vendors would be happy with an all day burger offer either, as it is they've probably had to offer concessions to breakfast type stalls in the campsites as the morning is when these vans are usually rammed!

The giving out cans of beer I always expected when they said the offer was for campers. The bars will be run independently anyway so don't see how they could have worked out giving a free beer to each person as they'd still want paying for their beer.

It's still a decent gesture and something nobody else is doing but maybe Melvin should have worked it out a bit earlier so he didn't tell people they were getting something they now aren't.

Free breakfast - Was OK with this instead of a burger until I noticed there were only two outlets in the campsite. I'd probably rather spend £3 on a bacon roll than wait in the inevitably enormous queue. Bit of a fuckup.

Still, free stuff is free stuff.

On the subject kevin, the queues will be to the point where in 5 hours serving unless they had about 20 servers on each stall then they couldn't satisfy demand, they could do 5000 a piece at each stall, 10k max if it's going to be anything like what I imagine it will be. A lot of people will be going without.
