o2 network and BBC website down

My phone's been down for a few hours now, expecting to get a flurry of texts at some point from my best mate saying his mrs has gone into labour - i'm on call to drive to the hospital if necessary.... That said they do live next to an ambulance station full of paramedics

My internet's also been a bit temperamental this evening, just tried to download a game on my ps3, and it's giving me a ridiculous projected time for the download which is only a few hundred mb's.

I didn't realise o2 wasn't working for me as it said I had a signal but I hadn't actually tried calling/sending a text

however, my friend called my landline and said he couldn't get through to my mobile and that he'd text me - which I didn't get

and atm it says i have a good signal but when I go to make a call just comes up 'call failed' :(

Eh?

I didn't even know what he meant never mind what you mean?! Lol.

Before him I had a tv with a DVD player in it at home. That was it. We now have iPod, iPad, PC, laptop, which all work together wirelessly. I don't know how I connect to our printer from my iPod but I do. Madness.

From what little I understand do you mean there isn't a 4g network normally or just at the moment?
