hi folks, new to the site, thought i'd have a sort through any forums for Beni.

Really looking forward to it this year, my first one abroad.. i usually stick to V or the smaller ones.

we're flying into Madrid and then driving from there and over for 8 nights in total.

thinking of getting ourselves a standard hotel room for the week in some rundown pit.. just to get our heads down in a nice cool room with a shower..

there's 4 of us.

you all looking forward to it?

Just tried booking via raileurope. They say they're available to begin with but when you try to book them it says they're unavailable.

I called renfe last week. Said they wouldn't release more trains until two weeks prior to the date.

They've just released a train which wasn't up yesterday as far as i know. Seems to be a shambles. We booked up on the 09:27 to castellon. Couldn't be arsed with Renfe, I must have checked their website 200+ times over the last few months.

I thought Scotrail were bad.........

Hello everyone,

First post on this forum. I've been to several festivals in the UK but I've never been to Benicassim before. I have a few questions and was just wondering whether any of you could help me out?

- How long does it take to walk from CampFest to the beach?

- Is there much going on in terms of bars/clubs etc from Monday to Wednesday?

- What are the rules for taking a car in and out of the site during the festival?

- Anything I should bring that isn't (too) obvious?

Thanks,

Harry

Hey, me & my mate are staying in castellon but have mates that are camping. This might be a stupid question but with your 4 day ticket you can still get a camping wristband so you can get in the campsite? Just checking!

Thanks!

First off, let me just post and say its less than 50 DAYS AWAY!!!!!

Right :P

I'm new to the forum and new to benicassim (or any festivals abroad, i've been V Festival 5 times) and i was just wondering if a king person could answer afew questions for me?

1) The whole 'register your place on the campsite' thing after you've brought tickets, what is this for? well my question is are you ALLOCATED a camping space or can you pick? we are going on the monday

2) Are there clubs/pubs in the town, for day time use whilst getting something to eat, etc....?

3) Can you buy camping chairs / lilo's (and small tents for bag storage, this isn't NEEDED but would be useful) whilst over there? as its a truggle with flight allowances as it is

4) is ant killer and insect repellant a MUST? seen afew people saying you wake up with creepy crawlies all over you

5) is a sleeping bag needed? or is a blanket enough...

6) Are there MASTERCARD accepted cash machines in the town?

7) what times does the bus to benicassim run to and from

Thats all i can think of for now, many thanks to whomever helps out x

I will try my best...

1- this is health and safety instigated by Spanish police, from my experience we were allocated a spot but we arrived early on Monday...the later it gets in the week the more likely you will just plonk yourself somewhere as the helpers transfer from placing new arrivals to serving in bars and other jobs.

2- there are lots of bars and a few pedestrianised streets have DJs

3- you can get everything you need in Beni, and cheaper than in England

4- I woke up face down in the grass a couple of times and was never bitten, however probably worth taking some.

5- I've never taken a blanket if any sort...it is so so hot!

6- quite a few card machines down the town, easy to find

7-not sure about the bus but one tip is if you are going to the beach it's quicker to go along next to the railway and cross over towards the waterpark rather than walking towards the town centre like most do!

I'm hiring a car this year and will be taking bribes of the alcoholic type to ship people from camp to beach haha!!!

My advice is no need to overplan - beni is well organised these days and has been going for some years.

Last year there were lots of people walking around selling small booklets with set times on, they were attached to a lanyard, a lamp wasn't really needed but we were in a well lit area quote close to the beer tent and showers, if you are away from the action you may benefit from one.

If you forget anything/can't carry everything can you buy things like lamps or sheet to put above your tent kind of thing and camping chairs? :)

Oh and we get to the campsite Wednesday evening but we have got a paid for tent up for us already, I was just wondering if there was a designated area where these tents go and anything else you can think of about these? :)

Do they sell cocktails? If not do they just sell spirits/beer/wine? :)

Appreciate everyones responses!

yep. Dunno the prices - never drank there. Always seemed to be a lot going on in there though.

Small stalls actually in campsite to buy stuff, but Benni town is great for picking up those things you forgot or couldn't be arsed to take. Lilos last year approx 3 - 4€ from town.

Dunno about designated tents but I can't see them being in with the great unwashed. I think the website said there was a designated area where they will be put up.

Dunno about the beer tent on site, but in the festival grounds itself they do sell spirits and beer (JD and Heineken export last year - probably other spirits too but didn't notice). Dunno about wine either.
