There is a lot of reasons but Geoff has being going down the pop route more and more over the years. Perhaps he will see the Saturday see the Saturday selling out as vindication of this stance. When I got hooked on T there was a proper mixture of quality acts.

Take into account that most people that have been to T times before have more than likely seen the likes of Mumford and Sons and The Killers enough times also

83 quid for a Friday day ticket is ridiculous. Considering Rockness had 99 quid full weekend camping tickets. The lineup is nothing special even for a normal T weekend never mind a 20th anniversary T.

People are not taking into account the saturday is the best day to go if you work but dont want to take a day off (friday) or feel rough on the monday (sunday). For me it has little to do with the type of headliner.

Not exactly sure how many actual day tickets get sold these days anyway. Capacity is 85k and campsite capacity is 70k so leaving 15k split between day tickets and non camping ones isnt that many to sell individual days out

think it's worth noting maybe that now the earl's court gig has been and gone, i could see festivals the uk at least dropping hints of their appearance. a random T announcement of them wouldn't surprise me as from now, they usually drop bands randomly.
