I'm all for more bands stepping up to headline level. I just so happens that I really don't like The Vaccines.

Can't see The Vaccines getting a headline spot at the major fests for another album or two atleast, the current album hasnt really moved them much higher, Mumford and Sons possibly but as much as they are selling well I just see them being more than a sub act for the bigger fests for some reason at the moment. If they 'co-headlined' with say Biffy one night or played below a Killers or McCartney as mentioned I wouldnt find too much of an issue with that.

I do think that Mumford and sons and the vaccines are future headliners, Mumford being the closest to it but don't think they are at that level yet (not really a massive fan of them I will admit) so I think they will coheadline with biffy those two acts together makes sense in my mind

What does co-headlining at a festival like TITP actually mean? I can understand it at R&L where The Strokes and Pulp swapped over at each site and each one got to headline a night but at a single site one band still has to play after the other.

I'm all for progress but surely there are bigger bands ready to make the step up first. I don't like Mumfords contrived fauxfolkpop sound but if they're selling records and getting big crowds then I suppose they should get a shot eventually. But there must be people ahead of them in the queue. eg Biffy.

Vaccines are just weak indie pump, with a couple of catchy tunes.

it's no bleaker than it was when they had The Killers, The Darkness, Snow Patrol (each time), Eminem, KoL, The Verve, RHCP, The Strokes, Oasis, Stereophonic, and Texas.

Have all of them headlined? Verve were 2nd stage and I don't remember Stereos getting to headline status but you do have a point. I'd have all bar Snow Patrol, Verve and Texas back ahead of Bumfords anyday.

I was actually sad enough to go back thru the line-up pages on here to pull out the worst, so unless efests listed them wrong they all headlined.

Blur just got announced for Rock Werchter which is on from july 4th-7th and said that they "hope to travel in 2013 to play to more of our lovely fans who we haven't seen for a while. Don't know where yet, we'll tell as soon as we do" possibility for T?

I'd put them as a possible, been 4 years since they played if they did 2013.

Would love to see blur - missed them last time as we had to go home early, they were my favorite band as a kid so would be great to see them.

I'm still all for a legend headlining - Stevie Nicks has said Fleetwood Mac are touring next year would be incredible to see them.

It's not people really dude. It's more you. In the Blur thread on R&L page, u made a very sounding statement that T and R&L shared headliner is an easy bet and have put a lot of backup for it. I'd say you've chucked quite a bit not to be able to stop people thinking it's at least a 70 % chance

I put it as a rumour, cos there's that rumour going round off the back of the Wertcher date - but nothing more than that. That certainly doesn't make it 70%, much more like 7%.

judging by the date of the Wertcher show it's a pretty easy guess that they'll be doing T in the Park and Reading/Leeds.

Its hard not to get over excited about it.
