Comfy Bean
The time that Texas headlined the main stage I left early. You can spot the retrofest acts like Deacon Blue. Travis, and Texas booked purely for their Tartan Shortbread appeal. None of these bands have been released anything remotely successful in a long long time. Those type of bookings remind me of Edinburgh, where I avoid the high street like the plague for its tartan tat and tourists. Where the fuck are the rock acts on the bill, and why is shite like this getting booked instead of the likes of Queens of the Stone Age? a_n_other
I think across 3 days there is a place ( early evening in the sunshine ! ) for deacon blue, travis, texas and the like. Would agree they shouldn`t be any higher up the bill as best days long gone. For me, there is plenty more shite right across the card that should be dumped well before the 3 you mention. Anywayz, saw King Charles last week in King Tuts. Brilliant live and would love to see him being added. Hope your right about Queens of the Stone Age. Comfy Bean
Saw him last year and was at king tuts as well. Solid performance great album so would be a yes from me.....
a_n_other
One of my highlights at Kendal Calling last year. Had never heard of him before then. As you say, a great album and thought the new tunes at Tuts sounded decent. Also see he is opening for the Stones at Hyde Park. Talented bloke - great hair. a_n_other
Think Phoenix might be subbing on the NME stage, and Kraftwerk are headlining King Tut's. So they shouldn't overlap, and it'll only be by a small amount if they do.
harryomatic
Only thing is I don't think you will get into tuts to see kraftwerk if you wait that long, I have the feeling it will fill up quickly....
harryomatic
The T Break artists were decided yesterday, with an announcement coming soonish I imagine on who will play. Anyone hoping for any particular acts?
Stuart1000
Very true. Especially as they will only have a certain number of 3D glasses
harryomatic
I still don't know how they're going to distribute 3D glasses in a festival setting. Obviously it's just going to be the red and blue 3D paper glasses but how are they going to distribute them? Especially with people staying in the tent for bands before. Stuart1000
I don't know how they're going to do it either. If they just hand them out at the entrance before Kraftwerk come on, then surely fans that have been waiting down the front for a good spot will miss out on glasses? stu150
I thought they might have put them in with the program - fair enough that would cost more, to have one for each program but it would ensure everyone could get one. Also, it would ensure everyone who wanted to see them bought a program. Either that or put them in with the tickets like they do the plastic wallet - then it's everyone's responsibility to take them
marky3
Handed to you when they attach your campsite wristband, easy enough? Then have the Friday day ticket people handed them on arrival after ticket check or something. Obviously people might lose them between then and Kraftwerk's performance but that's up to them. marky3
But then they have to hand out 80,000 odd pairs of 3D glasses for a show only about 8,000 of them will actually get to see. Seems like a real waste to me (and we all know what Ellis is like with the money). Wouldn't surprise me if they charge folk for them at the merch stand. Stuart1000
A little surprised at the Odd Future members being placed in there but it's not a strange placing at all. As mentioned, Wu Tang Clan headlined it before and I've seen Dizzee Rascal and D12 play it too.
tori1607
Yeah i was a bit surprised to see Tyler and Earl in there. I've actually never been in the slam tent.
