devilman
frankblack isn't qualified to speak for me but he's pretty much hit the nail on the head. I'm actually considering getting a cheap ticket off ebay now and going. I reckon I can get one for less than a ton. A weekend on the piss in the campsite with the occasional foray to the arena would be worth it at that price. Oooh the banter

Deeps
I think Bloc Party is possibly for the fact they'd not take lower than subbing and they simply aren't that level for a major festival anymore
Deeps
Biffy will headline next year, I believe! Biffy, Arcade Fire & Timberlake are my best guesses!
frankblack
Arcade Fire would be great, but I couldn't see them headlining T any more. Not with the way things are going.
thewayiam
The last time they played, I think they were 4th from top on main stage. I would reckon they'd be happy enough with a similar booking. They'd be a good alternative to Rihanna as an NME headliner as well.
Gingo
hang on, all you've done is slated the lineup from word go but for less than a £100 you'll happily sit in a campsite. By the sounds of it, the distance would make that occasional to a much longer stint. See, I'm thinking the same for Leeds but I'm not going to pay £100 when the only things I want to see is enough from start on friday, sat from about 4pm and realistically by that time i could probably not enter the arena till 5:30 sat and sun. I'd finish at the main stage at twin at half 4 and not really care until 5:45-ish and I don't think twin will deliver on an huge outdoor stage yet
thewayiam
The TITP party atmosphere is worth paying a reduced price for a ticket, people could easily have a great time with their friends sitting about a campsite for the whole weekend, not my cup of tea at a festival but I imagine theres a few that have done it The distance from campsite to arena isnt enormous so going down for a few acts and back isnt a total mission either but I suppose that matters where you camp
Deeps
going acts acts that have done that, its pretty much putting them at sub level but on a stage better suited. Which is my reason for them not there. Iow has but they are headlining at the same uk fest that has one confirmed tuts header and possibly 2 but i have nothing that backs that up but i think foals would be i good choice, i don't like them but a lot do. Latitude is a lot smaller and iow being across the water can bump acts a bit more than most, they're undercards aren't always the strongest althou I'll admit for these days Friday is strong althou the topping band probably has an influence in that. marky3
They are not a arena sized band here. So they're last tour that sold academies as big as Manchester and London's Roundhouse were like gold dust. To be honest dude, if an established sub band at a major festival can't sell a few thousand tickets while performing their debut album then something is majorly wrong. Foster The People did that and subbed NME Stage last year, you getting the gist? By the way, these are academies, not arena's. People are talking about them possibly going on to sell their 1st uk arena tour out later this year for a reason.
thewayiam
Your second paragraph contradicts your first sentence. They sold out academy/theatre sized venues in minutes for their most recent UK tour. This means that they would most likely have no trouble selling tickets for an arena show. Chiefski
In UK fest terms, I can't really ever see QOTSA ever breaking the ceiling to get a main headline spot, not for the bigger fests anyway. They are one of the standard solid/dependable act that bookers will always call to put in the sub spot for a headliner that is similar to them or on a stage opposite a headliner that is different from them, nothing more than that really, and I say that as a fan. It might be different in Europe n such but their festival landscapes are very different to ours.

harryomatic
Paramore just announced a UK tour with no Scottish date. Saturday NME headliner perhaps? Or maybe they just can't be assed driving up north on tour
