tori1607
Paramore just announced a UK tour with no Scottish date. Saturday NME headliner perhaps? Or maybe they just can't be assed driving up north on tour

harryomatic
Someone tweeted Hayley on twitter and she said that's not the full list. Also just checked their website and they are playing Mexico on the 15th July which I would say would probably rule them out for T.
Shootenanny!
If they put Paramore on NME against Rihanna it would be a grim day. Would be the first time since 2010 I wouldn't have wanted to see one of the two main headliners on a day.
tori1607
^ saturdays looking like my weakest day so far, even ignoring Rihanna. Might be an early bed for me that day.

Stuart1000
There have been a lot of instances recently of bands missing Scotland on their UK tour announcements. I'm actually starting to think whether it is something to do with DF and the poor performance of T. Bastille pop to mind as the main example. Up and coming band, #1 album, loads of hype surrounding them. Yet their UK tour doesn't include any Scottish dates. A quick tweet from the band after the announcement said the Scottish dates were 'coming soon'. I can only assume that DF are promoting these shows but, if they are, it seems strange to hold back on the announcement of them with the rest of the tour already on sale. Holding them back means people might buy a T ticket with Bastille being an influence on that purchase, rather than "Bastille? Nah, I'm going to see them in November anyway"." This might also explain why there's still some of these Glasgow Summer Sessions shows yet to be announced.

thewayiam
If Paramore were at T, is it possible that contractual agreements stop them being announced until these sell out. I'd have thought though if it's said it's not the full list that there would be a scottish date, massive break between ireland and manchester date. marky3
As I said, so have people like Foster The People. You're not getting it, selling smaller venues even quick doesn't mean they are suddenly a headline band, not even if they sell their 1st arena tour relatively quick it doesn't. Biffy and I'm sure a host of others haven't headlined off of one arena tour. They are an established sub act, 2nd stage headline act, whatever record has come out, playing one arena tour and selling it doesn't automatically make them an established headline act. But you guys think they can sell tickets at £75+ for a day ticket twice then fairplay to you, with a weaker undercard which is will be, cause they'll essentially need to put a sub under them that isn't quite considered totally as high as a sub, due to the fact the sub will probably be more well known and more popular with bigger venue sales generally etc than them already. If anyone fan or not can realistically tell me that QOTSA at the top of the poster would make it looks strong I think you're wrong.

thewayiam
Fuck sake. I'm not saying QOTSA could headline. If you read my posts you would see that I said that no one is talking about them headlining the main stage.
marky3
I know what you said. But until they DO do an arena tour and successfully sell it out, it's irrelevant. Headlining was more due to the whole let's bum QOTSA - they can make the festival brilliant again which is pure bullshit! Might be to a lot of people a good booking for the festival but so would a lot of bands.
thewayiam
What has them selling out arenas got to do with anything? This all came from you saying QOTSA are "shite other than 3 songs". They would make the lineup better and it's as simple as that. That message is for all of you over at Gazza's gaff, by the way:

thewayiam
QOTSA are better than what is there, but you need a number of good bands to make a festival. This Arena tour qualifier of yours is nonsense. Look at where QOTSA are placed on other festival lineups in 2013 and compare with T's setup. a_n_other
I disagree that they are but agree you need a number of good bands. I don't have an arena tour qualifier and looking at where they are on a festival in the UK, I've never disagreed they are at sub level
Armourman
I for one will be astonished if Biffy dont make an appearance at T this year. There is a window on the 13th ( saturday night ) where they dont have a gig and a space on Radio 1 stage for headliner. Coincidentally they are playing Radio 1's Big Weekend and end of month which could explain the delay in announcing??
Gucci Piggy
They won't play.
foolee
Would love it if Biffy or QOTSA played, would be two amazing bookings as this stage no matter what anyone says... But I believe it is too much wishful thinking, and for many more bands to be announced for the main/radio1/tuts/transmission stages will be hopeful really. If you count up the numbers of bands excluding the slam tent there is basically the same amount to fill these which is why I'm not so optimistic! I think all thats left is T Break, introducing, thursday night film and fancy dress friday
