Matt42
So who's thinking this is likely for next year? Biffy, Arcade Fire, Justin Timberlake With Paramore, 30 seconds to mars & Queens Of The Stone Age Subbing. (Not in that order)

Chiefski
Biffy, Kings of Leon, one of Blur, Muse, Lady Gaga or Daft Punk as a longshot, Timberlake doesnt strike me as a big festival player, though I would watch him, boy has some tunes. a_n_other
I weep thinking about next year.... The undercard this year covers it but I couldn't be bothered convincing myself it'll be good.... Bennicasim for this soldier next year, will go down the devilman route and maybe visit eBay for a T ticket, monkeys will fly out my arse before I spend £200+ on watching the pish I think will be round up....... For that reason, I'm out.....
Gingo
If Daft Punk are playing festivals and TITP dont have them it will be the biggest surprise, their recent success with Get Lucky has secured their place if they are doing fests

devilman
I met one of my pals in the pub last night. He's distraught. He bought 2 T tickets and a campervan ticket on the strength of the 20th. It's the only festival he's home for this year with his offshore rota. No one else is going and the only band he wants to see are the stereos. He's seriously considering putting the awning up on his driveway and just getting pished and stoned in there for he weekend with his ipod blasting out on 11. I'm not ruling out T next year or any year. I suspect that your fears for the line up will be true and it'll be what we consider a very poor lineup but you never know. It's just lost its position as a guaranteed nailed on spend every year now. I'm liking the look of Alt-Fest for next year too.
Matt42
One Direction and whatever manufactured pop is flavour of the month must be more likely to headline next year. If the T organisers want to shift tickets at £200+ a go, they need to seriously rethink their booking strategy and "target demographic". If I was to go to T this year it would depend on getting either a freebie or a massively knocked down ticket price.

Chiefski
Ah are we at that time of the year when the pull out rumours start happening? One Direction wont be headlining next year, no chance... Wouldnt rule out the kol, biffy, arctics mention really, its very safe, but its maybe whats needed for one year, especially if a move does happen. daniel.k
One Direction will be touring but I think if they do anything with will do Radio1 Big weekend or CapitalFM thing, no major fest would stoop to that level

Ukulelelad92
In my opinion one direction headlining wouldn't be a disaster. For example, should T book one direction, biffy clyro and arcade fire as headliners then the number of 'chavs' attending would drop drastically as one direction are seen as 'uncool'. There would also probably be a much heavier alternative on the radio 1 stage as well as across the rest of the lineup to cater for biffy/arcade fans. Where as say arctic monkeys, KOL and Justin Timberlake would cater much more towards a 16-21 demographic and therefore there would be more pop and dance across the rest of the lineup
guitarbhoy1888
i cant stand one direction but cmon people they are absolutely huge ! when else have you heard of a band being together for 3 years and selling out stadiums in 20 minutes! it would piss off regular T punters but i bet T would sell out the morning of tickets if they were to headline, maybe not next year but on a year they arent touring. day tickets would be gold dust and anyone unable to get day tickets would do this daft thing were they get a weekend ticket for one band. guitarbhoy1888
and surely the phonics havent pulled out, they're a house band...
Gingo
One Direction are a weird one because they are so popular but the organisers know there would be so much outrage over it, the only reason they probably wont be booked is because they know the fans of One Direction are 95% below 16 so arent really expected to be attending fests. On headliners if it was KOL/Arctics/Daft Punk/Biffy any 3 of those 4 are a damn site better than this years, sure they arent inspirational but they are safe solid bookings it would all come down to who else they had playing the rest of the days
harryomatic
KOL, Biffy, Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Blur, David Bowie, Green Day seem like good headline options or next year to me. Throw in a charty pop headliner and I'd be happy with the headliners. Anyone think The Prodigy could move up to headlining after their next album?
