T in the Park 2013

Biffy Clyro have just announced arena shows in Scotland on the 31st March (Aberdeen) and 1st April (Glasgow). Though it means nothing I would have thought that a little too close to the summer for a potential headliner, along with T usually being announced the end of February. Can still see them playing, but still reckon they might be taking a second from top spot.

Don't mind Biffy playing but wouldn't like to see them in a headliner spot. Don't think they're quite "there" yet but it's all subjective.

KOL also said that they'll be releasing a new album next year - this news concerns me, don't really want to see them back.

Yea i'm going to say they might give festivals a miss this year and come back with a bang in 2014

Could it be that TITP have went against the norm and have booked headliners that people weren't expecting :O only time will tell hopefully we will get one relatively soon

I'd say looking at the facts she's likely to headline somewhere though... especially as in the summer she'll be in that awkward position where the new album will have been released (god help us) but another full scale tour won't be ready/announced until at least Autumn/winter 2013, therefore I'd say she's likely to hit the summer festivals and cash in. Though Glastonbury, V & T in the Park are all options in my opinion.

Curious question...why would Biffy headline in 2014 with no new material (presumably)?...If they don't make it to the top this year, it's going be the next album cycle... (Unless Opposites goes stratospheric ofc..) I just don't see the logic.

was watching The prodigy on NME stage on youtube, to be fair they did 05, 08, 10, 13 going by that is a big gap haha, i see this happening or i hope it does, but only against a headliner on main i'm not bothered with. That said, surely if it's The Killers, GaGa, Green Day, they will be closing it? They did the Saturday last time I think.

And they have back in 2005 gone against Green Day so.

I reckon if The Vaccines play RockNess they maybe need to headline it, or defo at least sub it. They won't by then be that far away from subbing T.

I reckon The Vaccines below The Chem Bro's

QOTSA below The Prodigy sounds good. Don't think QOTSA will get a headline spot on NME stage.

Can't help but think Plan B for a 3rd NME header. Subbed main last time, new album.

The Vaccines are a band that isn't really popular enough to headline one of the major stages. I'd be surprised if they were anywhere near capable of headlining the SECC for example, but perhaps someone will prove me wrong. To me, bands looking to headline NME must be at the stage where they are too big for the likes of the Corn Exchange or O2 Academy, and I'd say the likes of QOTSA and Slash are in that category with the likes of the Prodigy.

Personally I don't rate them as their music does nothing for me - I've heard it done better by many other bands.

Perhaps mixing things up a bit with NME and Tuts headliners to perhaps have the likes of Madness or the Specials on one of the days would be interesting.
