This flabbergasts me. T was welly deep slop over the entire site and Download had a few sticky patches most of which could be avoided. I've never seen anything quite as bad as T this year, it was carnage. Except where I was camped, the grass was still lovely and green at the end of the weekend smile.png

I never went to the village but if you compare that to the sunset trip at T, did they have to close the tents due to flooding? And again, you haven't been to T, the same company runs it and it has a lot of years more experience in ripping off punters and bleeding them dry.

Sorry man but this comment is completely wrong. The village and way in past wristbands at Download was completely bogged out friday early morning. Organisation of the festival is a load of bollocks. If your looking for your next fest to say they don't give a fuck about the punters, just the money, it's Download.

That may be because it was on an island and there were transport issues on top of the other problems. The site at T was atrocious by the time the gates opened on the Saturday afternoon and deteriorated further to the point it got too much for a number of people by the evening. I thought I was prepared but not for conditions as bad as those, and had to limit where I went and how often I moved stages. In fairness, that wasn't much of a problem as the terrible lineup meant that I could see everyone I wanted without any clashes, and often had hours between bands (which I spent at T-Break etc).

I will invest in a proper pair of wellies (hiking boots just didn't hack it) and waterproof trousers if I go next year!

It was a foolish moment of honesty by John Giddings (or whatever his name is) in saying something like "we'll have a look at refunding people who can't make it" (when even with the best intentions it was probably never likely) that was misreported as "IOW to refund ticket holders affected by weather" and snowballed from there.

Nah hes funny, quite like him. He reminds me of my 3 year old daughter who's over excited for santa att he minute....Although thats for 2 months a year, it feels going to festivals is actully a bit of a hassle. He seems to get more of a buzz talking about fests, not seen a post how hes been buzzing about a festival hes been to.
