gazza_20
To be fair gazza I dont think hes in the minority. I find you quite funny and intriguing to be honest, I just hope your not going to claim you predicted right all sumner when you predict so many bands. Now thats annoying. gazza_20
Eh? You spend most of your time predicting fests in the sub forums of other fests.
gazza_20
I'm not being funny here but surely if Green Day have a chance of playing T, then Paramore do as well? yeah I know the Paramore, I like them, quite a lot in fact lol. gazza_20
I'd say Paramore have a bigger chance but they would sub not headline NME. (Just can't seem them on the NME headlining.)
Chiefski
Need to get Jack White in some capacity, preferably headlining nme, and with both his bands, he was awesome last night

LondonTom
I agree, they aren't the typical NME headliner, sub I could see, but they sub main potentially. Would be a typical type selection under KOL?
Chiefski
Agreed. I was there last night also, and it was great to hear him play so many White Stripes songs. Remember that White Stripes were booked to headline Main several years ago, and his material has only got stronger since then. It was weird having one band of ladies for about 10 songs then an "encore" with an all-male band, performing several tracks before the ladies joined them. frankblack
Ah awesome! I saw him twice in the same week last summer, he done his set at the Hammersmith Apollo with the women, then at Hackney Weekend brought out the men! An interesting concept at least having two bands, glad to heard his putting both into the same show, as it's cool to get to see the differences between both. Both shows were bloody ace though
thetime
I reckon more people would want to see Jack White. KOL's last album was truly horrendous. ter.
frankblack
Where they not subbing someone that year? (may have been REM, Flaming Lips replaced them and did a seven nation army cover) Was quite surprised to get both bands, had checked previous shows and saw that they were being rotated every night, but it was the last show of the UK tour apparently so maybe just decided to throw them all in

frankblack
Unsure about that, jack white struggled to aell out acadamy venues and kol are selling out arenas.
thetime
I think the Edinburgh date sold out pretty quickly. We will wait and see on KOL's current popularity. A lot of bands do hit problems when they release a follow-up to a terrible record. I wish KOL would get back to doing what they did on their first two and a bit records. Chiefski
Having googled I remembered them being the headliner, as Flaming Lips took their place, and I'm sure REM played so must have been the 2003 Sunday headliner. I think they were headlining the Saturday in 2003 from memory: http://news.bbc.co.u...and/3057955.stm (bbc article) I think I also lost Zwan that year which largely wiped out my Saturday "must-see" acts. Paul ™
I think Jack White will do Rockness.
LondonTom
If KOL is the best T can come up with it would be interesting if they put Jack White on NME vs KOL on Main to see who got more people watching. frankblack
Interesting shout, if him and QOTSA are both there that's a good seller for me
Chiefski
Same here. People have said that Rockness would still be largely a dance festival, but I can't see QOTSA or their fans wanting to be part of that. The fact is that T is booking all the big names in Dance the year before they get to Rockness so Rockness would be better booking big name rock bands that T doesn't seem to want. I've never been to Rockness but its becoming temping. I'm not one for camping, but I take it you could stay somewhere in Inverness and get a shuttle bus each day?
