Yoghurt on a Stick
They shouldn't be allowed to call it coffee.
feral chile
Well, I've spent £17 on a deLonghi 10 cup filter coffee maker, and used some strength 5 coffee i bought from Asda. Cafe Direct, i think it is. And I've drunk the full brew. I realise that I've not been making it strong enough in the past, since I've been using 1 teaspoon per mug. Yoghurt on a Stick
the simplest and cheapest way to as good a cup of coffe as you'll find. I think it's down to the presure, the way the water is forced through the coffe, It's the only way.

grumpyhack
I suppose it depends on what you are after - the taste or the caffeine hit. If it's the latter you might as well take caffeine tablets or a few Red Bulls. The one taste I hate is coffee flavoured anything - cakes, ice cream etc. Always seems to taste of anything but coffee. Yoghurt on a Stick
I've never been able to make a better espresso than what you get in a good Italian bar, but those machines cost thousands. A stove top espresso is as good as you can get at home if an espresso is what you want I've never, ever understood the point of any instant coffees... it's like a coffee 'flavoured' drink. worm
I always thought it was funny, when advertising Revels, they acknowledged that if you picked the coffee one, it wasn't good
The Nal
My favourite. Self-deprication is common to advertising. It shows humility and honesty. It works with generally unimportant and whimsical stuff.
The Nal
we were in John Lewis and succumbed a couple of years ago... we bought the Dualit machine. Great for cappuccino. My wife (she's Italian... so she must know ) often prefers the stove top espresso maker though. The simplicity of it is wonderful. We just cam back from a couple of weeks holiday. The only essential item was the espresso maker for breakfast... goes with us to Glasto too.

The Nal
I used to have an Italian housemate, and she always made coffee with a stove top peculator too. I used to have one and it was great, but it was pretty cheap and went a bit rusty after a while. I should really get myself another one. eFestivals
The coffee from them is really nice and really really strong! Like tar. Love it. I've yet to have a coffee out of one of them that can't be bettered by the same coffee thru a filter maker.

eFestivals
if you want an espresso, filters simply can't do it I don't really do espresso. If I want a drink, I want a drink not a dribble.

philipsteak
I don't really drink much instant coffee either, but as I was camping I thought I'd give it a go. I was quite disappointed.
