mrtourette
There are a number of reasons why Reading sells more than Leeds, including but not exclusively: People in the South are rich while people in the North are poor.Bands only play Leeds because they have to in order to play Reading so don't put in much effort.Special guests like Bryan May probably aren't even aware that the North exists so only rock up at Reading. It always rains at Leeds while it's always sunny at Reading. The free breakfast bap offer at Leeds is tripe in a barm cake. Most people don't even know what the fuck that is and that scares them.At Reading there's a chance of getting on the telly and maybe seeing Fern Cotton's legs in the flesh.Aren't people always on strike in the North?Notherners won't shut up about gravy. jump
Just adding to the Viagogo talk, FR went and got a capacity increase which must of meant they were confident enough that the fest would sell out even at the increased capacity possible due to them seeing an increase in tix sales due to the sunny skies or whatever recently so it doesn't seem likely that they will go out of their way to get an increase just to put extra tixs on viagogo which may not sell. mrtourette
Shhh and enjoy the gig in a field with 90000 southern fairies that can't handle there booze and go to bed at 11.35 because there is fuck all to do
eFestivals
This isn't true, there's still 90,00 Southern fairies trying to get through a swamp 15ft wide and out of the arena at midnight. Unless Oasis are playing, then that's happening from about 9.30 (true story!).
mrtourette
Yeah I actually left before Oasis and went boozing in town, although it was hammering it down.

RichieParf
I'm glad it's sold out, the more packed it is the better the atmosphere is for me
Buko
I think I'd rather it sell out than there be masses of tickets left, before people had to make an effort to get a ticket so they only got if they really wanted to go, now anyone can grab a ticket the crowd (last year) seemed to care less & less about the line up and be more interested in how much they could set on fire. eFestivals
what happened? massive numbers of people streaming out of the arena when they came on stage at Reading. I only noticed it cos I was in the Carling tent at the time, which was next to the entrance that year.

astroman123
The facts are there. Leeds is a better festival than Reading. > Extra nights entertainment > late Night entertainment till like 6am > We get Foo Fighters before reading. > Extra bands > Even the movies shown are better. Just because its on tv and is south doesn't make it a better festival. Reading is over rated to say the least. Leeds all the way!

evilduck
You know why I go to Reading instead of Leeds? It's closer. Simple as that. And I suspect thats the reason for a whole lot of other people as well.
