Alcohol, Day pass and Shuttle buses

Hey Guys. I'm from New Zealand and lucky enough to be visiting when Creamfields is on!

Just getting day tickets, and getting bus from Manchester.

However want some advice about pre-drinking.

Is it possible to bring some booze on bus, and drink on bus, and outside gates before passing through ticketing?

Figured I could save a heap of money if I could skull some booze outside before I get in!

Also after advice about what time the main acts are on. I see music starts at 12, but want to see Example, Avici etc

Am I right in assuming minor acts will be on during afternoon, and the biggies later on.

And are there long queues for day passes, or is that more for campers, as have seen some crazy youtube vids with looong waits.

Hi, Its awkward to help you out but I would maybe check the terms with the bus company to see if you can consume alcohol on their bus as alot of them don't allow it. I think your best bet would be to drink spirit and a mixer on the bus maybe and put it into a coke bottle and this way you can drink the full length of the journey but cans of beer/larger may be tricky.

Drinking outside the event could be a problem as there is a high police presence and if your not actually in the event/festival they may confiscate your booze and issue you with an on the spot fine for drinking in Public but I can't be 100% sure on that as I don't know how strict they will be outside of the event.

Yes the bigger acts i.e. avicii will be on later on so you won't miss them.

I think Q's are hit and miss you may be lucky you may not be!!

Sorry but I have never done a day ticket so i can't really help much more!!

Hope you have a fantastic time!!

I've never had a problem drinking the odd tinnie walking up to the site so it shouldn't be a problem particularly once you're on the estate but not yet through the gates into the venue if you get what I mean. Never used the bus but coolhull's idea sounds like a good bet.

The amin acts are generally on from 7pm ish. If I had to guess I would say that Example will be on around 9pm and Avicii around 10pm but don't quote me on that!!

Queues are, as coolhull says, a bit hit and miss but they now have separate entrances for camping and day tickets (unlike when they first changed it to a 2 day camping event) so thing usually go fairly quickly for day ticket holders. I always get hospitality day tickets so get fast track entry but sometimes that takes longer than normal day ticket entry!!

Let me know if there's anything else you want to know.
