Sziget 2013

Kings of Leon have been removed from the efestivals rumours list for V (last year both V headliners played Sziget), so I'm wondering whether their tour of Europe is due to end at some point before August?

Rammstein have been ruled out of Sziget by szigetnews.com because they are supposed to be playing Volt instead.

Wouldn't Neil Young be a tad expensive? Saw him at Optimus Alive a couple of years back and thought that his performance was mega disappointing.

Of the bands, etc. that are listed there, my bet would be on Eminem and SOAD. I, for one, would be over the moon if SOAD were announced! :)

KoL play in Denmark on the 11th Aug which can't rule them out, surely?

I wouldn't personally want to see Nick Cave again (nothing against him he's just not my thing) and he might not even be a headliner if he did play

That's a shame - KoL would be such a merrrrrrrrrr booking - was hoping against hope that they could be ruled out! You're right - that means they're probably nailed on!

In which case, I go for KoL, Eminem, SOAD & Nick Cave being announced as headliners ..........

but didn't they say last year that the tax situation was the reason they couldn't get the

expensive bands . and it was changing for this year with better tax breaks

and could poss get the bigger names .

fall out boy must be in the list of possibilities now too

must also say last year was awsome :superblue:

Well, if that's true, it looks as if the Monday is going to be a metal day again this year. Motorhead is a promising start though, we weren't that impressed with the metal day line-up last year.

Just checked out the above link, apparently, this information comes from this German website: www.motorhead-fanbase.de. This site also says the following:

At this point, upcoming tour dates are collected, which were not yet published at the official website. Since the exact dates will be announced at festivals just a few months before the festival, there may be slight variations.

Which seems to suggest that the information may be correct, but the date probably isn't.....

Wouldn't mind seeing Motorhead but I'm not going to Day 0. To be honest I'd be really happy if Day 0 was metal headlined by them, however I'd be gutted if it was SOAD who I don't want to miss. I am somewhat concerned that the only obvious dates that SOAD could play Sziget are the 6th (Day 0) and the 8th. Does make most sense that they play the 8th as they're in South Russia on the 7th and it'd lead them up to Scandinavia on the 9th but obviously there're no guarantees

Does anyone know if SOAD and their crew travel on a private jet? If they don't, I think we need to give up our hopes for them.

On Skyscanner I found only one flight scheme that could get SOAD in Budapest in time for a Sziget show on the 8th, but the band would need to go up right after nine hours flying, without having time to do a sound check and with a high risk of cancellation of their show in the case of delay. SOAD performing in Budapest on the 6th and in Anapa on the 7th is impossible, unless they have a private jet.

Also I wrote a little blog on sziget if your trying to convince your friends to come along and they're on the fence - the organisers made a video last year which sums up the vibe so well, I doubt anyone who sees the vid would t wanna go! /blog/971/entry-1626-sziget-this-is-what-the-party-at-the-end-of-history-looks-like/">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/blog/971/entry-1626-sziget-this-is-what-the-party-at-the-end-of-history-looks-like/ Also I know this is old news, but I am also 100% behind the karaoke tent push! I loved that place, and the climbing wall, I really want that back as well.
