Cristall
If anything can be learned from Sziget News' line up speculations in the past, it is that Sziget is unpredictable. Last year Placebo was the only headliner they predicted (they were confirmed soon after Sziget News posted their speculations list), although The Killers became a rumour a few days in advance of their announcement too. But I don't remember they predicted Snoop Dogg, Korn or The Stone Roses. And neither did Sziget News predict Blur or David Guetta.
edfirth
Lollapalooza announced. Most of these acts can be ruled out http://lineup.lollapalooza.com/ Only Alex Clare is on the current line up

ro55en
I think that only the smaller bands can be ruled out from the Lola line up. When it comes to bigger bands and headliners I believe there is no problem for them to travel and for the festival to afford the transport expenses At the end of the day the 2 festivals are not in the same days. ... ... or I'm just trying to find out excuse not to rule out nine inch nails... Wondering if Sziget sold enough tickets to afford such delay in the (big names) announcements. I know that in previous years they announced quite later but in recent years the festival competition in general became furious. There are lots of new festivals (example: rock'n' heim) and all other August festivals already have quite strong line up-s... Also as @PastCaring suggested they may have budget cuts or something. Nevertheless this should not affect the main stage acts. At least not from marketing point of view. Legendary festival or not - Sziget cannot afford to cut big names cuz the fest will lose credibility very fast - especially in people who are going to festivals mainly to see live acts (like me), and not only to get wasted and pass out In the early afternoon. With that said I'm sill confident they'll pull out good names. We will wait and see... Just hope for announcement before 5 May (when they increase the price) because there are other good alternatives like Pukkelpop for example who also deserves my - "August festival money" ...) JumpUp
Rolling Stones announcing their summer tour tomorrow............unfortunately I believe it's an American tour. I reckon we will see some or all of the following anounced: Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Franz Ferdinand Kraftwork Florence and the Machine Eminem Kings of Leon Nine Inch Nails Greenday Biffy Clyro Iggy Pop Thats my 'educated' guess. PastCaring
Given the tour dates already listed for these artists, Franz is looking most likely (& don't know if it's significant or not, but their website was down this morning ...). Kraftwerk can be ruled out, unless they're playing Day 0, as they're in Oslo & Helsinki the rest of the time.

edfirth
Depends how big there in hungary, they play low on the bill pretty much everywhere other than the UK. Edited April 3, 2013 by edfirth
Uncle Liam
In Germany, Biffy Clyro play venues like Knust in Hamburg. And get less people than I Like Trains in there. In Holland tey play venues like the Paradiso, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was the small room upstairs. Plus, Biffy Clyro are basically a band in the UK for teenagers. Teenagers from the UK do not go to Sziget as they can't afford it. It's ok sticking them as headliners at Reading and Leeds, but at Sziget? Still, wouldn't be surprised to see it happen. Capzilla
Anything can be expected, David Guetta is the Sunday headliner after all.

thetime
i dont mean to be rude but that is utter tripe i'm afraid biffy have been around for almost 10 years (i saw them about 8 years ago in a tiny pub) and to say that they are only for teenagers from the uk is ignorant at best (i'm almost 30 and i love biffy) they will put on an awesome show when they headline sziget

ro55en
In the official festival poster (updated today) http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151611419222059&set=a.10150783965437059.470846.48023162058&type=1&theater Editors are written with the biggest letters between Biffy Clyro and Blur... We had this guess in the same tread some time ago... and I know that Sziget said that Editors will play "in the early afternoon" but seeing today's announcement I think that things can change... I'm very happy I still don't have tickets.

Cristall
Pleasantly surprised by this announcement. It just gets better and better. Not only the big names are nice, but there is a lot to discover too! I've just been watching some videos on YouTube and found almost all of these acts interesting. I already expect at least three difficult clashes a day now! And there's still more to come... Biffy headlining? Could be, but maybe they're co-headliners. In previous years Kasabian was headlining festivals in the UK, but just a co-headliner at Sziget. On the other hand, Biffy would indeed be a better headliner than White Lies. PastCaring
However, I hope they're not billed as a major headliner. If they're the smallest headliner it's fine. Blur, David Guetta, Kings of Leon, Eminem/Kraftwerk and Biffy Clyro would be an extremely diverse and strong set of headliners, even if they wouldn't be my personal choices Edited April 3, 2013 by PastCaring
