Just purchased the new super slim ps3.

My old 40gb phat ps3 (which was used when i purchased it many years ago now) died a couple of months ago. I have fixed it myself a few times with a reflow but it keeps dying a few weeks later.

Decided to backup my data and get the new slim for 125 quid from tesco. Will whack my 500gb hard drive in to it and hopefully away i go.

Popped in game earlier, I cant see the Wii U taking off the price of the thing and the games! Assassins Creed 3, Zombie U & Black Ops 2 all £54.99! Everything else was £49.99 I think, may have been some more at the higher price.

Nintendo have the casual market as its core audience now, tell me if someone doesn't have a games console they walk in and see a PS3 for much less with WAY more hard drive, cheaper accessories and the Black Ops etc £15 cheaper, they're still gunna go for the Wii U?

Anyone played Far Cry 3 yet? I'm hopefully getting it for Christmas, but after watching this video I can't wait to play it (warning its 45 minutes long). It looks like the exact sort of game that I like.

Far Cry 3 I have been waiting a long time for. Was a little worried it was all hyped up liked FC2 and then only to find the actual gameplay is pretty poor, so I got bored pretty quick.

Only had a couple of sessions on 3, onto the 2nd tower, mostly fannying around (as you tend to do with these types of things) doing a bit of everything on the first bit of map, so jury still out on the longevity aspect at the mo'. Not a lot of ammo when you go awandering (cant find any bloody boars to doosh to up my stocks with crafting) and the tigers are feckin vicious.

Certainly plenty to do so far, hunting and machete assassinations, finding stuffthats a little out the way( or not where it first appears to be ) and your character can be fairly spec'd up. (Not anywhere near Skyrim levels for example.)

On a new beast of a PC (bought to canter ARMA2) it looks great. Not as impressive as the original Crysis tho' . Menus a bit clunky. Lot of folk mentioning not being able to customise the "HUD" which I would agree with and the frequent "boinging" reminders of what you really SHOULD be doing grates a little.

I am loving Black Ops 2 more than any other cod game for years. and I have fallen back in love with TDM, sick of getting shot in the back on FFA with the ridiculous spawns, at least on TDM you spawn with or near your team. I have also taken a huge liking to one of the LMG's, I have unlocked almost all of the camos for it (only one left) and prestiged it once (twice once Ive got that last camo), having previously had a k/d of 0.8-1.2 I have been having some 4/1 and even a 7/1 with this tricked out LMG.

I'm hooked.

You are not suffering from the dreaded Lag then by the sounds of it. It's almost unplayable for me at times and it's broke loads of people's PS3's. Don't think the xbox has the same problems. It's a shame because the game has huge potential and the pick 10 system is great.

Loads of people bitching about it on the forums but it's great for maps like carrier where people blend into the background. It's a tad nooby but then again the names don't show up very clear compared to MW3.

carrier was the biggest gain for me with the target finder, fucking impossible tpo spot them without it!

there is a perk to counteract it though. and anyway, I'm pretty shit hot without it on the LMG too. one of the camos needs "150 kills - no attachments" twas a piece of piss, I'm currently doing the 150 kills no perks challenge to get my last camo.

I do like the Carbon Fibre Camo on my Sniper!!

LMG's are probably the easiest way to get Diamond Camo as there is only 4 of them to max out,.

yeah the carbon fibre one is nice, im currently running the cherry blossom or the ronin on my LMG, not really keen on the gold one, but "art of war" looks pretty cool - thats the only one I need to unlock. (which then obviously unlocks gold)
