Anyone played Farcry 3 yet?

I'll only add it gets better and better. Takes time to build up skills and weapons/ammo and syringes which open up new ways of playing. ie attacking strongholds.

An arsonists wet dream. wink.png

Also its massive.

It plays much better on the xbox I hear. I'm lagging like a bitch on the PS3. Get instakilled all the time only for the killcam to show he put half a mag into me!!!

yeah, I'd read they had some issues on PS3, I do get some lag, but my internet is a bit iffy now and then, so its hard to know whether its me, or the activision servers that are dodgy. Ive always maintained that xbl is better than psn, but thats an argument for another day. I think Sony get a bit of grace because its free, and xbl isnt - and the paid service should be damn well proper!

Also looking at picking up:

Red Dead Redemption GOTY

Bought it for between games. GOTY edition too. Got to say I was dissapointed. Been there done that with GTA IV. Thought I would like more of the same. Maybe need to go back and try the zombie add on sometime. It is cheap and without doubt a AAA piece of software though.

Dishonoured was great. Fiendish gameplay and made with care and love. Could have been bigger, deeper but maybe they sort that for the next one.

I finished Dishonored the other day. Absolutely loved it. I took the stealthy approach all the way through. I may have to play it again with a more bloody approach!

I finished it the other day too, except I went for the bloody approach, didn't have the patience for the stealth approach, but going to start again and give it a go.

Anyone going to be getting the new Hitman game? Looks awesome.

Just bought this today for £20 from Tesco, cheap as it's just out?

Anyway not posted in this thread for agesssss as not had the PS3 on for months. Been neglecting it, last game I bought was COD MW2 and hardly even played that!!

Need to have a clear out of old games and try get back into it again.

Has anyone played with a Wii U yet? I'm so tempted to save for one even though it's pretty much "last generation" what with the new X-Box and Playstation (probably) being unveiled next year...

I had a quick go on a store's demo machine, Nintendo Land was pretty good and I like the tablet controller but I've lost intrest in home consoles ages tbh.

I thought it was a great christmas special, the best I've seen in a long time! I'd love it if every episode the assistant died and they sorted it in the finale. But I imagine the first episode will be set in 2013 and all will get sorted then.

Assuming this one should be in the doctor who thread ;)

Eurogamer have named Fez as their game of the year, and I have to agree. Definitely the most enjoyable game I have played all year. It looks gorgeous, it's completely mind bending, the soundtrack is amazing (one of my favourite albums of the year in fact), the puzzles are ingenious, and its just great fun to explore. If you think "they don't make games like they used to", then check out Fez. The best 800 points I have spent all year.
