Yeah, I've broken my no-trailers rule 3 times this week, all with reboots of popular series from times past, all of which have looked fantastic and got me excited.

The actress playing Sarah Connor is perfect, she totally looks like a youger, more attractive version of the original and the old switcheroo with the changed timelines (there is no fate but what we make...) doesn't look like a cop-out at all. I genuinely thought that the last terminator film had killed the series, so I am really happy to again have hope for a great terminator film.

Similarly, the trailer for Jurassic world impressed me initially, although it looks like they have (sadly) gone with the plot from the leaked scripts a couple of years ago, which means that while it might be visually impressive, people are going to be coming out of cinemas with annoyed faces at such a farcical main creature.

i'm willing to give the new Terminator film a chance, but honestly i reckon it'll be shite. it looks like they've just taken elements of the first two films (as well as the dystopian future of Salvation) and merged them all together without many original ideas. will definitely give it a watch though and hope for the best

Jurassic World looks awful. agree that the whole 'genetically engineered mega-dinosaur' thing is ridiculous and unnecessary, and the dialogue in the trailer alone is cheesy as hell

TBH a dystopian future is all that is needed from a new Terminator film, those flash in the first two films was enough of a teaser to make you want to see more of it.

yeah i'm just hoping they do it better than they did in Salvation. definitely looks like they're sticking closer to the first two films (John Connor being all scarred up like his brief adult appearance in Judgement Day is a nice touch)

interesting to see the 'time machine' device in the trailer as well, as we've only ever seen the other end of it in previous films

Wasn't a fan at the start of his career but Gyllenhaal is turning into some actor. Tremendous in Nightcrawler.

He has been the stand out in his last few movies - Source Code, End of Watch, Prisoners, Enemy and Nightcrawler.

was thinking the exact same the other day. used to hate the guy but he's turned in some great performances / films as of late. have yet to see Nightcrawler but really want to

They took all the bits people remember out of T1 and T2 and made them shitty.

It'll be shitty... I called it, you called it.

I was quite impressed by the Terminator trailer, until it the last scene when you see an ageing Arnie jump out of helicopter. His a robot ffs.

I'll reserve judgement until the film comes out though...but in my heart of hearts. I know its never going live up to being anywhere near as good as T2.

Doesn't that also apply to the new Robocop which you've been raving about how great it is for the last year?

Yep... it looked like a travesty, getting everything tits-about-face, but the film was a clever reference to everything in Robocop by doing it all that bit differently. It was pretty good, not perfect and certainly not the masterpiece of the original - but good enough to have made my IMAX trip worthwhile.

I can't guarantee I'm right on this one, but at least you can see I'm wrong I'll be gutsy enough to publicly admit it.

I didn't see the new Robocop in the pictures, but if I saw it in a bargain bin in the shops, I'd buy that for a dollar...

Was he seen in either of those?

Genuine question. I can't remember but seem to remember never seeing his head.

He was seen but not his face/head. So he could have been bald I guess!

Unlike Charles gray in diamonds. And you only live twice but obviously he was a different person then.

Was he in FYEO? That's the question !

Pleasance played the role best IMO. Though I suspect Waltz will make a decent fist of it.

I saw Interstellar last night on the big Imax screen in Waterloo. There are a couple of plotholes and some cheesey dialogue but I havent been that blown away by a film in years and years. Amazing effects and soundtrack, I loved it.

felt exactly the same way. Christopher Nolan has always been one for cheesiness i think but the films are so good that i never really mind. do have to say though that there were several instances in the final hour where i thought 'right this is wrapping up now' only for it go continue on for a long time. not a bad thing but i definitely wasn't expecting the film to go in the direction it did in the end
