Timi Yuro on an album called The Lost Voice of Soul, has a track called Down in the Valley. Can't find that live, found this nugget from the archives tho. So you can have Valley or Hurt as that's what the Hill of Death does to me on leaving Mon morning

Or this even rarer and earlier clip which sounds nicer but maybe miming.

I'll go for PLEASANT Valley SUNDAY

Written by Carol King but a hit for The Monkees.  I'll let you decide which you prefer.

P.S. Wasn't the lovely Timi Yuro before you were born Whisty?

I went with Lizard and thought about Thin Lizzy.  Sadly no more but one of the few tribute bands I've got a lot of time for is Limehouse Lizzy who put on a great show and will give you a good singalong.  Hard working and highly recommended.

So the link word is WHISKEY (with or without an E)

Almost but not quite :)

Drinking too much of that Whisky could easily leave you Disappointed or worse. Great vid and lights show. Put on full screen + 720p or better, turn up volume, sit back and take it in :)

Some may be heartbroken by the target of this song.  Go with PUNCH or FACE.

Saw this band at Farmer Phil's. (Wonderful end to the festival season) and they brought a smile.  Well worth catching for a bit of fun.

The face that launched a thousand ships then.

I saw the Bar-Stewards, supporting Peter and Liza Carthy, a good evening, some ee bye gum in distant North Yorkshire at the Bandroom venue (Farndale), if you fancy catching some acts in a small 100 seat venue, but little nearby accommodation.

MOVING Waves from Focus, a Dutch band I first encountered in the late sixties, when I had a Dutch girlfriend.  Still touring today and still good.

Days often end with a SUNSET.  One of my favourite Glasto performances with Ray Davies following Waterloo Sunset with Days both backed by the Crouch End Choir.

Davies is an expert at re-working, or re-packing, his old hits but he does it well.

From dusk to dawn then.  This is on the soundtrack.  I first heard about Stevie Ray Vaughan back in college back in around 1990.  It may be an urban myth but i think Stevie played the Devil's guitar sound in a film I saw earlier in school about a classical guitarist (but rebellious) youth who was challenged to a duel, mixing classical and blues riffs, and wasn't he backing John Lee Hooker in the Blues Brothers too?

Close - but it was Steve Vai, another great blues guitarist, not Stevie Ray Vaughan who played the devil's guitarist in the duel.

It's a great scene from a great film.  The rest of the music for the film was written by Ry Cooder.

Anyway.... to continue the word association how about ORLANDO.

Tony Orlando was the lead singer with a backing group called Dawn back in the seventies.  Enjoy the flares, big collars and have a sing-along to a song that made Number One in both the UK and US.

Grumpy, you're performing remote regression therapy here, as Orlando was my cousin's favourite book whilst growing up.

I'm going to go for a name as a link - Brigitte Bardot, maybe we can get some Serge Gainsbourg out of this!

edit, couldn't resist

This is regression for me too Carlos.  Let's get that song out of the way to start.

I first went to France when I was fourteen on a school exchange and it changed my life.  I discovered girls, wine, smoking, fell in love with France - and got away from my mum!  What a month!

A song from that period and the link word is HARDY.

Tenuous link at best and no moving image but what I'm listening to right now after exploring Ursula Rucker and liking a lot.

Track on the album No Stranger Here called Seraphim Tones, but linking this track as it's a bit shorter and maybe easier listen. A meeting of East & West poetry.

Something live.
