GLAD RAGS

 

One of the great troupers of British blues.  I saw him in Cardiff about five years ago with Mrs GH.  Afterwards he was signing CDs and chatting and Mrs GH told him: "I first saw you at the Colston Hall in Bristol in 1967."  To which, quick as a flash, he replied: "I thought I recognised the face!"

I'm afraid my one encounter with PSB didn't float my boat.  They are one of only two bands I have ever walked out of watching.  I saw them at Wychwood a couple of years ago and it all seemed a bit up their own backsides.  The other band gig I quit was Mick Taylor, for the same reason.  Both are very well regarded so on both occasions maybe it was the mood I was in.

I've seen them a few times now. Their every valley album about the coal mining industry is great too

TITANIC

 

I love this game Dondo.  It reminds me a bit of Hymns Ancient and Modern with me posting sadly departed oldies and you introducing me to new music.  This is the wonderful singer songwriter Harry Chapin who sadly died in a car crash on the way to another World Hunger benefit gig in 1981.  He's best known for this bittersweet song W.O.L.D.
