Recommended Posts

I'm coming to the eFest meet, be good to put faces to avatars. Out of the many versions, this is the first version I remember, taking the link to LATER.

There definitely has to be a meet of the Word Association Group (WAGs) at Glasto. I've love to put faces to the names who've introduced me to some excellent music.

The connection went something like Yourself > All By Myself > Alone Again Or

So in the spirit of Glasto another opportunity to post a track from the great gig by Arthur Lee and Love.

And the connecting word can be Alone

I first got into Love back in the late sixties but couldn't get over how white Arthur Lee sounded. Have another track while I'm on a roll.

Made me think of last rites (and James Last), but a similar (happier) SERVICE is a wedding ceremony. I was tempted to have this at ours, or Nick Cave (numerous examples). I heard there was only 1 pressing of this that survived, which was covered over by zealous DJs on the Northern Soul circuit, but I'm glad it got a wider circulation.

The link word is SERVICE.

You pay Lip service.

Here's the frighteningly talented Stephen Merchant and friends taking miming to a new level in a Lip synch battle

Never heard of the Rev Peyton but he has a damm good band so thanks for that Carlosj.

So from Clap we go to Dosed or Dose.

Luckily being a married man who has always stayed on the straight and narrow I've never been dosed.

A bit of the Red Hot Chili Peppers

Taking the link to BITTER, or SUGAR (as in a spoonful if sugar makes the medicine go down) ( no pun intended, by posting this by the Jam).

I'll go with sugar and link to Brown

This has to go down as a Glastonbury moment for me. I love that Charlie Watts has one of the smallest drum kits around these days but still provides all that is needed.

Was going to use Jack and Diane as that came up on search for Ian, but singing about 2 people in a song reminded me of this one. So let's have Money as the word. - 5 points for any link to Mr Cash :)

Or raw old footage if preferable.

OK trying to be clever here. This song was written by Denny Laine, in his early days with the Moody Blues, before he grew Wings and then flew off to live in the States.

A Boulevard is a sort of big lane and it's the Boulevard de la Madeleine.

So three lane/laine/leine s for the price of one.

As there's no performance above so let's move on to the Moodys in full orchestral form at a later stage - sans Denny - at the Albert Hall.
