Playing with myself a bit here. But Lucas made lights and electrical bits for cars. So here's the Blues Brothers seeing the Light.

Still one of the best music films ever made.

We've had some great Reverends in music.

For once not one of Grumpy's Gonners. Roberta Flack is still touring at the age of 77.

This is her take on Reverend Lee

Still my favourite Flack song is her version of First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. (It may have something to do with the Dutch girlfriend I had at the time).

One of the most beautiful love songs of all time.

With no one else biting I'll play with myself and use this as an excuse to post another wonderful Roberta performance. Killing Me Softly. So the link word is still Lee

Got them both - Nancy (Sinatra) and Lee (Hazlewood)

Sadly Mr Hazelwood is another of Grumpy's Gonners (Renal cancer in 2007). But he was a great songwriter and producer. Co-wrote and produced many of Duane Eddy's hits.

Not many live performances of them together.

This is Nancy's biggest hit, written by Lee

So the link word is Boots

Thanks Oneeye. A chance to post another of Grumpy's Geriatrics - Dick Dale isn't a gonner, he's still touring California aged 77.

Glad you're linked up again Whisty.

Pleasant Valley Sunday was written by Carole King.

It was written for The Monkees who did this to it.

Well if we're working through the days of the week it's Tuesday.

Melanie Safka, who first came to prominence at the original Woodstock, but is still touring inn her late sixties.

A Jagger/Richard song that Melanie made her own.

And on to FRIDAY

My main memory of this song is the tinkle, tinkle Easybeat's version. So here it is with a bit more welly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDorH739Zgk

As for Iceland..... a big disappointment. On the Glasto score out of 10 (for what they do how well do they do it?) it managed just two.

Whale watching cancelled - seas too rough. And on the night of the Northern Lights they'd clearly forgotten to put a krona in the meter. We were driven out to the middle of nowhere in a coach. Parked up on a windswept hillside in the rain, got out of the coach and stood around for an hour freezing looking at..... nothing. No lights (apart from the illumination from fifty or so mobile phones and cameras of the frozen hopefuls). But they explain "tough, we can't guarantee nature. If it doesn't happen you can book for free for the next night." Fine for those staying for a week but we were only there for three days so didn't have another night.

Did enjoy going swimming in a huge hot spring lake where the heat came from the underground thermal spring. But Iceland won't be on my want to go back in a rush list.

Win some, lose some. Fingers crossed for Vietnam in March.

Tried to find SWALBR, make do with this one off Disraeli Gears. Was included in the BBC show Great Guitar Riffs at the BBC on Iplayer - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b049mtxy RIP the Bass

Nice raw version, prefer to that polished reunion stuff.

From Gears to Chain

Not sure whether to post this seeing as the money grabbers seem to have turned down Glasto in favour of the IoW but it is still a cracking song, that will forever be associated with F1 (what a great choice for a sig tune).
