Oil to GREASE

Another of Grumpy's Gonners but what a voice. Joe Cocker at Woodstock with the Grease Band. His scream at 5 mins is still amazing.

And a more mellow Joe in later times.

HORSES One of the great South Wales bands. Sadly no more for health reasons. But a great guitarist in Graham Williams.

If you want some superb good guitar enjoy this - particularly from about 5 mins onwards.

WINTER

I was going to go for Johnny and Edgar Winter and give you two Winters for the price of one. But instead here's a Glasto performance.

Arrogance

If you never see any other band I mention make an effort to catch Show of Hands. One of the finest folk/roots bands you'll ever encounter and two really nice guys in Steve Knightley and Phil Beer plus the delightful Miranda Sykes.

This song was written by Steve in reaction to greedy bankers.

They've championed a lot of other performers, including PJ Harvey, who was taught guitar by Steve.

You deserve free tickets for promoting those guys :) Anyway I had to google arrogance to find a word, think this sentence sums it up nicely. Take Ego or Tripping. A song I have but never listened to, quite nice to hear Marvin anyway

I made a mistake but too bad. My first reaction to trip was the opening of Whiter Shade of Pale but it's actually we "Skip (not trip) the light fandango."

But who cares? Still a classic. and it could be a challenge to link to FANDANGO

Way back my mate made me watch Jools & saw this bloke in a great big chair calling himself King Solomon, got me straight off the bat. Has a track called Dance Dance Dance but nothing live so here he is (I think as I thought it was dark) at the place we all love where I was fortunate to be in the audience for what became a Grumpy gonner!

PRIVATE Dancer. The Mark Knopfler song that gave a fresh boost to Tina's career.

King Soloman Burke played Glasto in 2009 and was excellent. Obviously a busy man. When he died he left 21 children and 90 grandchildren.

He also wrote Everybody Needs Somebody to Love, covered by many including The Stones and the Blues Brothers.
