When I gave up after two numbers from Metallica last year I went walkabout and stumbled across an excellent set from Bryan Ferry.  Couldn't find a vid of his Glasto performance but the is is the same band, with a great woman drummer,

Jack to flash

Remember singing along to this in the cinema as a kid.

A happy memory of Jack is being offered some whilst watching Pulp in the Park, nice 'Glastonbury stranger' vibe

MULE

Back, before most of you were born, this was cutting edge children's entertainment on the BBC

Asses and mules are beasts of burden in most westerns, as are oxen.  Most famous ox I know isn't Oxblood boot polish, but the feller who played bass below originally.

Can I use a Patti Smith version though?

She knows the words so how about a surprise appearance with Patti joining The Who?

Sticking with Ms S, HORSES are also beasts.

BORN

I first saw Steppenwolf do this in 69 at the Shepton Mallett Festival (Glasto -1). The Hells Angels who were 'doing security' were leaping around like little kids when this song started.

Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry - Dr Banner. RIP Bill Bixby, always used to watch this each week

And a lightly cheerier tune with a Dr

Eyes.

Great memory from 2010 in the baking heat.

My son was 14 at the time , and although it may not have been his thing, he came along with me, and i think he enjoyed it too.

He had a timetable of all the bands he wanted to see ,written on the palm of his hand ,in ballpoint pen.

I explained that in the hot weather ,that he might sweat, and that it would come off, though he assured me that it wouldn't.

I then mentioned the fact that it might come off after a toilet visit ,after he washed his hands.

The following morning the timetable was still there :D

My favourite pic from that year, is of my son holding his hand up, with his timetable written on it.

Still makes me smile when i look at it.
