Clown from Slipknot was on Daniel P Carter on a recorded interview from earlier in the day on Monday.

You can skip to 1hr 3 mins which is where the interview starts, he is talking about how the band want to play live but still can't bring themselves to perform in the studio and record new stuff as Paul was such a big part of the writting, but says Corey and Jim have been playing more as part of Stone Sour and Stone Sour are playing Download too on a different day [this is at 1.07] and then after Download they hope they will be ready to start preparing to go into the studio.

So there you go, he isn't going to get that wrong. Stone Sour will be playing Saturday or Sunday.

sub with stone sour and headline tent again with an accoustic solo set again on the other day maybe? although think a solo set would need to be on 2nd as the tent was rammed for him this year.

This is very pleasing to hear! I just hope that they don't headline second stage and play as main stage subs to avoid a clash with Maiden or Rammstein.

I wasn't expecting them that low, but I'm glad they are don't want them taking up too much of good slot, mind you I feel the same about 30STM and The Gaslight Anthem. I really hope the Sunday 2nd stage is more to my tastes so I can get warmed up for The Stein.

Sounds to me like they wanted to play, but due to no 2nd stage header on saturday, they were limited in what other slots were available

Really?! Must have missed that one! I am a bit surprised they're not a little higher, but not a band I've ever been into so not that fussed either.

Yeah I just thought Download would struggle with headliners this year and have to bump someone up and use Corey Taylor's popularity as a stepping stone, as he's a Kerrang darling Copping might have thought it would soften the blow of having them pushed up.

But Download ended up getting three big headliners, thought it was gunna be another 2011, clutching at straws and ending up with Def Leppard filling in and Andy thinking fuck it I'll take a chance instead, but it hasn't come to that, think he may do it next year with Avenged Sevenfold though

Bit odd that Stone Sour and Coal Chamber are probably gonna be below Gaslight from the sounds of things and yet they are both higher on the poster atm.

Guess they have just been thrown higher up as they are the new additions but still looks odd

Andy said that Stone Sour releasing 2 average albums & not continuing touring (but going back to Slipknot) has affected their popularity hence their position. He's bang on IMO. Gaslight are a bigger band than Stone Sour right now, as proven by both of their respective tours.
