That Munich show feels too close to the BST frame for that. London Stadium has Sam Fender, Iron Maiden and - likely - Guns N' Roses. Emirates has Robbie Williams. Tottenham has Stray Kids, Imagine Dragons and Catfish and the Bottlemen.

 

Plenty of options if they choose to sidestep Wembley again.

Aye I think they were meant to play Wembley in 2006 but had to move it because Wembley wasn't ready. 

 

Tbf moving it to Twickenham is less of a jump than something I seem to recall reading that Bon Jovi ended up moving Wembley shows planned for '06 before it was ready to the MK Bowl and the Hull City FC stadium. Which, you know... basically somewhere vaguely near London.

I vaguely remember that Bon Jovi fiasco. Anyway, were it not for the sheer volume of shows already booked  at Wembley, I would say it's probably the last chance for the Stones to scratch that itch if they want to - but there has to be a reason they haven't done so far, perhaps.

 

Would be nice if the other show outside of the capital is up north, but having played Liverpool last time out, I'd wager it's Scotland or the Midlands.

They played Wembley on both Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle, and Voodoo Lounge tour. It was the old Wembley though. Had a ticket for Urban Jungle, tore my ankle ligaments playing football on Clapham Common day of the concert.

My parents went to one of those back in the early 1980s.

 

Ticket was £12.50 - high end for those days, probably less than the price of a meal with a drink in the stadium's concession stands now.

Bad enough even in a modern context, thinking it went from being under £40 when I first saw The Killers in 2009 to a standing ticket to the recent London O2 shows passing the £100 mark.

To be fair, cheap end tickets for that tour weren't bad. Saw seating in Manchester for what I think was £45 plus fees - and that had a nice forty-minutes of support from Travis too.

 

Met my arena criteria for length on my night too, so can't complain.

The way to do it these days if wait for Lucky Dip tickets from the Stones. You pay less than FV, and get given a blank envelope with two tickets in, only discovering where you're sitting when you open them. It has landed me in the pit twice.

I did that for the Cardiff gig in 2017, ended up first block of seating in the lower tier. Absolutely perfect spot, good sound, decent view of stage & screen, and an aisle end seat meant I could get out quickly at the end (necessary as was tight on time for the train I had to get home).

Yeah, I did lucky dip in Manchester. Still ended up in the gods, but cannot complain for the price at the time.

Not sure the Stones would fill a north east stadium, there’s a reason why you mostly near certainty sell out acts up here. There just isn’t the catchment.

People will travel for the Stones though, especially if it's the only gig outside of London on the tour.
