So pleased the long set time is confirmed - looks like we're going to get (nearly) the lot. Plus a fire-breathing bird.

It's amazing when you think of the months of speculation we've been through on here: it's all come finally together!

I posted this months ago, but for anyone who missed it and might enjoy it, this is Andy Kershaw's very entertaining account of being involved in putting on The Stones' show at Roundhay Park, Leeds, in 1982:

i reckon that there will be a dj on in between the stones and primal scream. 90 minutes is too short a time for a band, too lond a time for the stage to be set up. just thinking out loud here.

what do you guys think?

edit: actually, i reckon its actually for crowd control. but hey, you never know, could still be filled with a dj... prob/maybe....

Big question: is it worth spending 90s mins of quality Glasto time sitting around waiting for the Stones? Was going to do Primal Scream (who I don't mind but don't love) to get a spot but this is starting to seem a bit silly!

I bought his book after you posted that the first time round, a very entertaining read. The Stones bit is probably the best bit though.

Happy to see we are going a full set, we can pretty me guess 95% of the setlist based on the American tour

90 min wait is a bugger, was going to the Primal Scream to get a good spot but this has given me second thoughts. Makes you wonder what sort of stage set up The Stones will have for that long of a gap

90 minutes is some prep time. Pretty much unprecedented in my time of going to festivals. Macca was an hour and he had the Freelance Hellraiser dj in the gap.

When you look at it like that, if there's one good song in each unknown section, that's a pretty damn good set list. Happy will do for keefs bit, and its all over now would be nice at A2 - I'm a happy man if that's how it turns out.

An interlude act needs to be someone fairly well known, with minimal set-up requirements and the ability to entertain a large crowd.

Preferably an all round entertainer and - ideally - someone who's worked with the Stones before:

keep it simple. Next means next. I've never understood why, for some people, next means the one after next.

I think it's when the next Friday is This week, and the Friday after that is Next Week.

No matter what you say it seems multiple clarifications are needed, In my world at least :-)
