Ratpat
I'm just smiling and enjoying to see how many (mad) people are on this board, who're not only going to Glasto, but also doing at least one Bruce-gig- before this I had the feeling of being the only one... Tramps like us...

tevaburger
I was thinking the same, I spent all day Saturday at Wembley. Well, got there at midday... so that's a 7 hour wait for him to come on stage. With friends, meeting new ones... etc etc.. I can think of plenty of worse ways to while away an afternoon how was he saturday? you got 'Darkness...'! was thinking of that gig...memories of the last Wembley Stadium gig in '88 when a group of 8 of us were at top of steps by late morning, and eventually carried about 24 cans of beer into wembley, dashing across the field at 3pm to get at front and settled in for a 6pm start
MEGABOWL
Edit: In answer to megabowl Humming and hawing, but probably aye. Though at present going for a massive curry and a few jars in the Church On The Hill and seeing what happens rocking up an hour or so beforehand doesn't sound like too shabby a plan. It's a Tuesday after all, and I reckon 95% of people will arrive after they finish work for the day. Can't make my mind up. Me and the wife are now off tomorrow and considering wandering down early,it's not a big schlep from Renfrew. How does it work? Is it as simple as queue up and hope for the best? Add to that United winning the League and as far as my personal predilections and interests go, these are Good Times.
tevaburger
Stones 21:30 Steve Winwood 20:00 Acoustic Wayne Kramer 19:30 Leftfield Johnny Marr 18:20 John Peel Elvis Costello 17:15 Pyramid I'm gonna check Costello and the Stones. In between however there are three intruiging prospects spread out all over the site. Need a quad-bike to get around to all of 'em however! Lot will depend on how the "going" is underfoot. how rammed u reckon the acoustic tent will be for Winwood though? i find that to be a horrible place to be if you're not properly inside and even inside it can be difficult. i reckon he'll get quite a crowd with those who couldn't be bothered where they are in the field for the Stones. and I want to see Primal Scream.... CaledonianGonzo
Can't make my mind up. Me and the wife are now off tomorrow and considering wandering down early,it's not a big schlep from Renfrew. How does it work? Is it as simple as queue up and hope for the best? My understanding is that before 2pm you can arrive any time and get a number - then there are roll calls throughout the morning and if you miss a roll call you lose your number. Then from 2pm you need to queue in number order. At some point it's expected that pit wristbands will be given out ahead of the gates opening, but when that is I dunno. Then when the gates open, you run down the tunnel and into the back of a cattle car from whence you're freighted away to the camps.

ThomThomDrum
A lot of dedication on here. Pure madness to me but I have to respect the dedication. I don't know if I would ever Q to these extents for any gig....
Wooderson
Last time with Bruce myself and the Mrs queued with 1 1/2 yr old from midday, got bands at 3pm, went home had dinner, left kid with Grampy Rabbit and got taxi back to gig. Bruce shows require work.

tevaburger
I reckon its because the Stones arent going to show up at site until just before the show and they're building in some contingency if theres problems/ delays getting them in. And if they cant wake Keef up. that's why Evan Dando is back for the first time in 18 years! we'll notice a ruffle in the stage curtains they've put up to hide the setup and out pops Dando, an acoustic guitar and a stool at about 915pm... Wooderson
I have a feeling those last 2 shows in Kilkenny will be awesome... Are you doing both? That's an interesting point from C Gonzo, if you're going to both. How are they going to organise people queueing for the Sunday, before Saturday has happened? I am doing both mate, yes. 10am in the queue both days I hope. As regards queues, there'll be two... and the proper pit-pigs will leave the Sat night gig early to get a number for the Sunday. MEGABOWL
make sure you find whoever is organising it. We had to get a guy with a felt pen to write a number on our hand then a date stamp too, then queue up for the wrist band...... There were a couple of punters queueing with us, and it was only when they did the wrist band and were told they didn't have a number, so weren't eligible. Take a black ink marker/pen just in case awesome! I think the whole album bit is a good idea to shake the set up. I'd have really loved Tunnel Of Love.. but I don't think he's ever done that Cheers Tony. Sounds a bit complex TBH but we may well give it a crack. I reckon it'll be a cold day in hell before we get TOL

ThomThomDrum
i find all this fascinating...... It really is. I'm happy to get a decent spot near the sound stage. If its good enough for the sound engineers its good enough for me. Being too near the forward stacks can blow my ear drums something fierce these days. That's old age for you... was at the front of a Radiohead gig a few years ago and embarrassingly had to stuff rolled up tissue in my ears for protection
Matt42
Isaiah recently visited the site, eavis invited him, and he got to meet him and talk. He's also got some funny little nuggets of information. I don't see the point in posting this as no one will believe me, but ronny wood from the stones has demanded his own portaloo wrapped in plastic and glass so no one else can use it. Also he spoke about some kind of statue that's being put up near the pyramid or somewhere, dedicated to 'inspirational' people or something. People featuring on it are Mandella, Eavis himself and some others that have not been specified. I pressed him for information about this strange bird, but he had nothing. He didn't even know what it was, so when he visited it must not have been on the pyramid. So the mystery continues!

GlastoSimon
On a side note, I wonder if Bobby Gillespie will do another 'you want Basement Jaxx?' in two Saturday's time? Not sure it would be that effective this time though... Actually, it didn't really work in 2005 either! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mh9DPVKqHzA Classic.
