Efestivals Christmas Bristol drink-up?

Seems quite a few of us on this board are based in or near Bristol, so I wondered if any of you would fancy meeting up for a beer before Christmas? We could choose a nice ale house and chunter the night away with tales about Glastonbury, and put faces to avatars and all that... Thought I'd throw it out there early so if anyone is interested we've got time to find a date when everybody's free? Anyone in?

In terms of good pubs in the centre. If you're a good beer lover, then off the top of my head I'd humbly suggest one of the following: The Severn Stars (next to The Fleece, small and cosey, pretty central, CAMRA recommended), The Hillgrove (one of the best ale pubs in Bristol, beautiful inside, cheap food, beer garden for the smokers, sadly not central and up a gert big hill) or The King Bill (Sam Smiths pub on King Street, cheap as chips, nice and homely with a real log fire, close to other options such as the Old Duke, Apple, Mother's Ruin etc, but no music or smoking area)...

The Farm is good too, and close to a couple of other nice St Werburgh's pubs, such as The Miners and The Duke of York.

the Seven Stars is great when going to The Fleece, but it's not really a pub for drinking in is it?

I don't know the Hillgrove, King Bill, Old Duke, Apple, or Mother's Ruin. I've only been here 9 years. I'll have to find those. laugh.png

Have been in the Miners.

If you're talking pubs like that, hows about The Plough. tongue.png
