So do we know where these strong rumours have come from? I'd love to see Queens or Chains again, provded they're on the right day. Anyone reckon there's a chance they'll headline 2nd stage?

I think they said that after R&L 2011 they were taking a break, I guess by the time Download swings round next year that will have been a long enough break (that is assuming that they haven't done anything between then and now, I hate them too much to even go onto their site and check).

If it's Maiden, Queens and Chains as a top 3 one day, I'll get a day ticket. That's the only way I can see myself enjoying it anywhere near as much as I did on the Sunday this year. I'm banking on Pearl Jam for Soni!!

Not necessarily, Luckysalt's theory is they want to play to the fest and that's the last spot left citing Rock Am Ring as an example so there's a possibilty of even when you're right you're still wrong.

if they were considered by download at this time to headline they would be instead of one of the others, namely slipknot who are blaits a late booking as they thought they had pearl jam but didn't.

But nope they end up on 2nd stage, money regardless, bands charge what they do. This is a band that download in 2008 had headline and were clearly the strongest headliner in what went down as a successful year i hear

They were one of the stronger bands in 2008 with kiss Alive 35.

If they do play that's my Friday night sorted.
