Rammstein and BMTH at the same time is a terrible idea. Doesn't give any options for people over the age of 15 who aren't impressed by pyrotechnics. Surely a classic headliner on the Sunday 2nd stage makes far more sense. Stick BMTH on Saturday under Stone Sour where they won't bother anyone, and get someone decent to go up against Rammstein.

Rammstein should be considered classic now, otherwise Download is gonna keep getting latched on to by dinosauric rock bands that will never go away.

It's not just about Rammstein's stage show for me, I am sure I am not the only one that actually likes their music.

Hope Deftones sub Slipknot, or headline second on the Sat. Other then that not got much else I'm really hoping for high up, realistically anyway. Download's undercard is always utter tripe for me so I'll just be happy I'm getting to see Slipknot and Rammstein.

Really hope there is some dancey type stuff somewhere though too, would be a shame for DL to go away from that direction after it seemingly doing alright in previous years.

I keep looking at the bands booked for Download & whilst it's a good line up, I can't help but think how great it would have been if they had actually got Pearl Jam instead of Slipknot & that day had gone:

Rammstein have been going for nearly 20 years. People who were 18 when 'Du Hast' came out (and Rammstein started to blow up..no pun intended) will be mid-thirties now. Makes no sense to put another 'older' rock band on against them, as already said, they're pretty much a 'classic' band now. Given they're the most requested Download headliner & Andy Copping coming out & saying that 2nd stage bands have struggled recently against popular main stage headliners. It makes perfect sense to put something on 2nd for the kids (BMTH or someone of that ilk) who will have been toddlers when Rammstein broke through.

The fact that ADTR will be playing high up on 2nd that day leads me to think this will be the case.

Meh, maybe it's just that I don't care for their particular brand of industrial gibberish (or "German" as it's otherwise known) but what I mean is that it's not accessable enough to tick boxes accross the board regarding the variety of festival goers. They have quite a heavy sound, BMTH also have a heavy (see also: shite) sound. Where's the more accessable option? This isn't bloodstock! Despite my distaste for them, I would consider the more radio friendly Stone Sour a better alternative to Rammstein, because at least it would give more options. Don't give me that 3rd stage bullshit, because I'm talking about the slots that actually shift tickets, not the afterthoughts.

I've never really seen the attraction apart from the pyro aspect,the music maybe heavy and create an atmosphere,but i like a good lyric that i can understand.

Plus they are German and i still hold them personally responsible for bombing my Great Grans outside toilet while she was in there.

So who are we thinking for earlier in the day? I reckon Coheed will play below Alice in Chains and we'll probably have Deftones sub to Slipknot... really hoping Flyleaf play main... probably on the Rammstein day. BMTH will def show up... either main on Slipknot day or headline second as suggested before... Mastodon for the Slipknot day. Maybe Serj Tankian for Knot day also since he had a good slot at Knotfest.

Me and the missus met a load of leather clad Germans in a metal bar in Barcelona and they said that only idiots in Germany like Rammstein, as their lyrics are deliberately simple and catchy no matter what language you speak, which is why they are so popular in so many countries.

I don't care, I think they are hilarious! Especially the dude on the treadmill!

The thought of an Enter Shikari clash with a headliner is unbearable!!!! Cannot see em clashing with Rammshtien and Slipknot. So if they're 2nd Saturday as no band clashes with Maiden, Enter Shikari QotSA clash ain't too hard. Maiden are the main band I wanna see !!

Crystal Castles are quite good for any audience a bit like The Cure if you want crossover acts, in a similar way to people mentioning Skrillex as a crossover Download-dance act.

Give me The Cure and Crystal Castles any day.
