I don't rate Kanye a lot as a rapper, but he beats Eminem on the strength of the production on his tracks. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is a brilliant album particularly.

I agree with you on Kanye, I think he's an immensely talented man. There seems to be a perception that he's always using autotune which isn't true at all, he only used it on his one experimental album.

MBDTF is absolutely brilliant.

Eminem pushed the boundaries of 'rap', something different apart from the usual, he, in my opinion is challenged only by Jay-Z, Dre and Tupac as the greatest rapper.

As for Kanye, MBDTF is an excellent album and proves Kanye is an exceptional talented rapper however for me personally I would say that Nas is and has been one of the best ever

I agree about Dre, he can't be considered one of the greatest rappers of all time. Producer yes. Nas is immensely talented, its a crime that he hadn't had the same exposure as Jay-Z throughout his career.

Got to be Tupac though for me.

Yeah it's weird how in every other genre, no one ever discusses who's the best, and everybody just gets a long in a state of harmony while skipping around in fields of flowers.

If someone mentions say The Rolling Stones you never see someone pipe up and say Led Zeppelin are better it just doesn't happen (unless they are joking).

That appears to me as people stating bands they like in a lighthearted fashion. It's not the same as saying...

I think a lot of that comes from the nature of the genre itself though, rap is all about rivalries and one-upmanship, so I guess a lot of that filters down to the fans.
