After £7 million spent on the inquiry it seems like an utter waste given Cameron is going to do sweet fuck all about it. Seems the press have their license once again to do what the fuck they want and ruin the lives of normal people as they see fit. Good day yesterday, not.

no govt sets up an einquiry which says the govt was wrong.

It became obvious that it was toothless when those who were called had to present to Leveson the evidence to incriminate themselves - which of course no one did. For example, qwhile Dave Moron did manage to give Leveson some embarassing texts between him and the wicked witch, he got to decide which were handed over and only a fraction of the texts sent between them were handed over.

There's a more than reasonable suspicion of criminal collusion. Why weren't the police investigating?

All the same, it's changed things in the short term - and I'm sure that there's plenty of people who haven't been shafted by the papers for the last year or so that would have been.

Quite why anyone accepts that press freedom would be threatened by legislation I don't know. After all, no one is saying that TV news has no freedom by having ALWAYS been regulated.

The press were always going to report on it negatively and make the suggestions sound like an invasion of freedom of press, and the government were always going to stick on the side of the press to keep them sweet.

Maybe we should have an inquiry into Twitter. If that's unfettered freedom to publish whatever allegations people like and with much more difficulty to get corrections or redress.

Arent the press becoming less and less useful anyway?

I see a massive change in the way we consume our news, and many many people have had their eyes opened by Leveson, simply by seeing large volumes of bullshit, collusion and corruption exposed (albeit in a rather toothless way) by Leveson.

My one true wish throughout all of this is that at the very least - Coulson and in my wildest dreams - the Wicked Witch both do jailtime for paying the police.

so maybe leveson wasnt such a waste of time anyway?
