Travelling - from Glasgow!?

Reading is only 30-40 mins away from Heathrow and there are coaches every half hour or so into the main train station.

Or if it's cheaper/quicker get the train, I guess you'll need to go via London but a quick train from Paddington to Reading only takes 20 minutes and they go very frequently.

Once you're at the main station it's only a 20 minute walk to the site, or they put on shuttle buses.

I went to Reading from Glasgow last year, but I was meeting up with a mate in Kent for a few days first so my advice might not be quite as helpful.

One big thing about Reading compared to other festivals is it's really close to some supermarkets, so if you fly / get the train you don't have to worry about travelling with your food / carry out. You can pitch up then go for a walk to get supplies.

You can get trains to London for about £30 if you book far enough in advance.

However, as people have already said, you're probably better going to Leeds :)

I do the trip from Scotland to Reading a lot, though from Edinburgh. The train from here is about 6 hours changing in London. From Glasgow I expect it would be about the same but with a change in Birmingham or Wolverhampton. That will be by far the easiest way to go to a festival because of bags and uncertainty over getting off site to catch a flight ect. You could fly to Gatwick (cheaper than Heathrow) and jump on a direct train. Personally I hate Gatwick airport though so if I fly I fly into Bristol and jump on the mainline down. Worth remembering it may actually be cheaper to fly BA over the cheap airlines though because of their baggage allowance. That way you also get free drinks, including booze, on the flight.

You can get the megabus from glasgow to london and then london to reading (and then back up obviously), works out at about £30-40 return so it's great if you don't mind buses

I always see people saying you can get the train down cheap but having looked at the prices the hour the tickets became available, I've never seen them for anything below £120?
