Going out in Birmimgham

Hi

Looking for some info on nights out in Birmimgham. I know brum o.k, but mainly from shopping. Been out there on nights out a few times and always tried to go to different pubs / clubs.

Been to VuDu (nr Acardia) and it was cheap but totally dead! think its closed down now anyway.

Been to the club night on saturdays at the O2 academy, was fairly cheap but yet again it was fairly dead.

years ago i used to go Eddies & Snobbs...just remember them as dark, dingy rat holes which were packed. so if there still like that (which ive heard they are) i dont think i want to go back.

Went to Bliss on broadstreet last thur......is was awful...oh, and a 100% dead! everywhere else on broadstreet requires a NUS card...which i dont have sad.png

Ive been told Subway City (down Snowhill end of town) is good?? Also the friday club nights (called Propaganda) at the O2 academy are good??? any truth in this smile.png

cheers

I went to a jazz place near the shopping centre, next to a Wetherspoons. Really good night and not pretentious. My son took me to a pub near the canal, opposite some building that had a banner for an Aquarium. There is a nice pub in Perry Bar on the Birmingham City campus. No idea what the name is but I had a laugh

It's been years since I went to Subway City but it was a great venue when I did go. It's under a series of railway arches and has different levels and rooms. It was a very non threatening place. I suspect it's still that because I've not heard anything in the local news or the grapevine about it being otherwise.

Another place to go to is The Rainbow in Digbeth. Full of young people and it has an attached night club area which goes on until 6am. It's slightly out of town so you don't get the usual Broad Street brigade ie it's more trendy.

Just after I put up the original post I read about the Rainbow on the net, sounds brill.

Apparently digbeth is no longer the dive it used to be, has loads of new pubs, clubs and venues.

I think the HMV institute has a club nights?

Think I may try the O2 on a Friday night next, or maybe subway city.
