He's been remanded in custody until March. No mention of a plea but I remember his solicitor saying at the time of his arrest that he will be denying the charges.

it was a 10 minute hearing to do names & formalities etc.

yup - I'd seen the women's names, ages and locations reported in some majorish publication (I forget which now) before his first court appearance, and was quite surprised when it changed to "their names can't be reported".

His statement from today, "Mr Watkins furiously denies all of the charges and allegations made. He intends to fight to the bitter end to clear his name.
