Mouseboy11
The police aren't allowed to release names unless they have substantial evidence. Edited December 20, 2012 by Mouseboy11
rug568
Heard today from people in the police that they aren't allowed to release names unless they have substantial evidence.
Gucci Piggy
Well that's ridiculous. So basically if the Police think your guilty they can get you tried by the media. I agree with thetime on this. There should be complete privacy until the end of the trial.
rug568
It is ridiculous, but it does also mean they have substantial evidence against Ian Watkins.

jump
So is it normal for the police to charge people with not much evidence?

rivalschools.price
The whole thing seems lower profile than i thought it would be. I was expecting it to be front page news on all the papers and headline news on TV.Even the red tops only had about a quarter of a page on it and its not even on the main news page on teletext. Radio 1 barely mentioned it and you have to scroll down quite a few pages on the news websites to find it.Even the welsh papers only has the basic facts on it. To have the high profile singer of a top band arrested for child abuse is surely a huge story.for some reason one of Savilles mates, who most of us have never heard of, being arrested for the same thing is dominating the headlines. Maybe Watkins has friends in high places.

Babyquack
I would say lost prophets profile has fallen significantly over the last few years as has pop/rock in general. However even at their peak he wasnt really a huge star. Since the days of Gallagher, Albarn and Cocker Im not sure there has been a high profile frontman although Im probably forgetting someone.
