Ten years

I've only just realised I've been a member of this site for more than ten years. Things have changed in that time, and tbh I've probably changed more than this site has. People have come and gone, and come back again, and gone again. There have been ups and downs and silly things, but mostly just a lot of good natured festival based gubbins. It's certainly different to the very old days of difficult to follow thread formats, going back further than ten years there I think, but in spirit things are more or less the same. Not sure where I'm going with this really, other than to say thanks to Neil, it's not always been harmonious around here, but it's always been here which is something. Here's to the next ten years. Hopefully I'll get a Glastonbury ticket for at least one of those...

Time flies, eh? :)

I've now been doing festival websites for 15 years, efestivals as my job for 13 years, and I've even been an employer for (I think) 8 years now - none of which I'd have ever dreamed of happening when I put up a first webpage about Glastonbury as a joke.

I wonder if I'll still be here in another 15 years time? Come to that, having just had news of another festival having bitten the dust, will there still be a festival scene worth writing about in 15 years time?

Agree with everything radish says. I've been on here since late 2006 and i'm on to my 3rd username, spent lots of time lurking and just reading but always enjoy the discussions and especially when neil goes of one with someone or other ;) So yeah six years and five glastonburys have passed in the time i've been on here, not sure if i would be AS obsessed with glastonbury and other festivals if it wasn't for here but who knows. I'm rambling now so yeah as above thanks neil :D

Shit I've been here 10 years too this year, I actually starting lurking in 2002 around the time I started my first full time job, definitely connected to "trying to find stuff to do at work rather than work" I've always wondered what office based workers did at work before the internet.

I remember a friend of mine going off to a meet at Glastonbury in 99 and me thinking it was very weird, going to meet people you'd never met to chat about festivals, although I lurked on the old tree style forums myself - I remember the main dilemma then was which tree - chat or questions.

How things have changed.

This year will be my 7th on these boards. I joined this forum when I was going to my first festival to ask some questions. Back then I think there was more activity on the festival forums as social media such facebook and twitter were still in the introductary stages. So when people needed information about festival's they have to go to boards

Over time it become one of my favorite website's, which I visit on daily basis to see the lastest updates on festivals and tours, also to see and participate in some discussions.

Well done efestivals, keep on the good festival spirit :)

9 years next month for me, though I registered back then to ask about my first Glasto as a punter (ended up working it anyway), but was a lurker on the boards from just before TITP 2003.

Cheers Neil, keep up the hard (low paid :P) work!
