Mouseboy11
When leeds started not very often,°which I presume why they gave them guns n roses and added entertainment.
thetime
What do you mean "gave them guns'n'roses?" I was just curious because it's always talked about R&L being a 180,000 ticket festival but it's never really had both sites sellout. thewayiam
But heading download back then, and not touring off the back of mezmerize and hypnotise which tbf they would have been touring arenas with.
thetime
Went through this the other day, even with them, they did 3 uk arena dates between 2001 and their split, 2 nottingham arena dates and 1 manchester arena date, the rest academy's. They never hit major arena status here, they sold bar less than what most subs at R&L will sell now and the crowd is much less their crowd. Yellow_Fellow
Not bigger than R&L and as Leeds started up in 1999 you include it so 140k +
Mouseboy11
How on earth does that work? No, you don't go to both festivals unless you get a ticket for each of your alter egos.

thewayiam
How many arenas have rage against the machine played? You dont need to be a big arena selling band to headline.

kev1664
Did it? I remember getting a coach tick + festival ticket pretty late on. I think they usually sold out pre 2010 but slowly at leeds.

thewayiam
In fairness though the bill needs to try and attract more people as it is spread out over two sites and therefor has more tickets to sell. So from the point of view of ticket sales, R+L is bigger than Download, although neither site is as big on it's own.
