ian the worm
This is a really tough question. Which of these 100 is your favourite? Just one vote allowed. No this or that or second places. No lists. No runner ups. No joint firsts. Just one choice allowed. Its impossible to choose! Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/vote/100-greatest-hits/ YouTube Playlist: The votes will be broadcast throughout the day on Friday Feb 1st. Whats missing? Whats a surprise inclusion? Whats your choice? xx
mrtourette
I'd have to chop that down to Arcade Fire, The National, Sigur Ros or Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Maybe Blur as well. Probably plump for Sigur Ros or Arcade Fire. Probably Sigur Ros. Probably. I'm sure a lot of the artists (Foos, Primal Scream, Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, The Maccabees, etc.) have released better singles in the last ten yers than those that are on that list but I guess they chose the most popular ones. Of those 100 artists I'd probably replace 80 of them, although the majority would be well outisde 6music's remit (I don't believe I've ever head them play Cancer Bats). fatyeti24
probably like a lot of people here, i have heard/owned/enjoyed quite a few of those (and never heard quite a few too), but there are 3 that stand out as regulars when i'm playing tunes for my own pleasure. and out of those three i'd have to go with 'House of Jealous Lovers' by The Rapture. what i think is interesting is how many of those singles are not what i consider my favourite record from their respective albums. i think my choice above probably is, but my other two (LCD Sounsystem 'All My Friends' and The Streets 'Weak Become Heroes') aren't. pink_triangle
Theres only 2 singles on the list that I listen to on a regular basis, Johnny Cash and Bright Eyes. Even though he didnt write the song himself, I would still plump for the former if I had to make a choice,
ian the worm
Only one allowed!

1waveydavey
Good thread! Saw this the other day and struggled to pick something as there were loads I really enjoyed - Im guessing Elbow will have a very good chance of winning and I nearly went for that but opted for Midlake - Roscoe in the end. Loved the Trials of Van Occupanther album and played and played and played it at the time so that is what swung my vote.
radish
I went for Goldfrapp's Strict Machine. None dirtier, grindier, best played loud on a very good bass capable steroier track. There are better songs on the list probably, but I had to pick one, so I did.

ian the worm
Just finally made my mind up (Klaxons) and voted. But only to find that the list is no longer view-able! Meh.
kaosmark2
Flaming Lips - Do You Realise Nick Cave, QOTSA and Sufjan push it close, plenty of other awesome acts but in terms of one awesome song in that list Do You Realise has to take it. That at Jodrell Bank in 2011 was probably the best few minutes of my life.
Spindles
Wake up - The Arcade Fire. Tough choice to make with some great songs in there, some right tripe also.

windy_miller
I went for Seven Nation Army in the end. I remember being absolutely blown away the first time I heard it, and is one of the few songs on the list that I would call a modern classic.
