Who is the 3rd headliner likely to be?

Nope, personally I agree, they sound like a pub band to me (albeit a great pub band). However, I think over rated is a funny term because, if people like them, they like them? I know that sounds obvious but its that simple. Plus I like variety in festivals and I think Blur Eminem and Biff would be a great mix of genres

If you only listen to their hits, its easy to mistake them as a throwaway Britpop act, the same generic shit as Oasis.

However, unlike Oasis, they actually got bored of that and went off on a tangent. They were heavily criticised for Think Tank, but it showed a want to actually progress. You need to move away from their more famous stuff and loo at suff like This Is A Low and Tender. P

Couldn't agree more.

I thought Think Tank was a wonderful record, but I can understand that it's not a record that would come across well live. And I guess you could say that their popularity was on the wane, but that's due to them being bored with how things were going and deliberately making different music, music that was always far less likely to have mass-appeal than what they'd previously done. Coxon had left, Albarn was doing Gorrilaz and his other stuff, they sort of petered out so it was obvious that interest in them was going to fall away given that their own interest in Blur was decreasing all the time.

"A band they've played with" could mean anything though. The played R&L 03 with Blur.

They played Ozzfest with Sabbath last year so that's hardly "once before years ago". Although I don't know if Sabbath ended up playing...?

Unless they mean they physically played with them, like on stage together.

Actually, I've just had a thought, if that's in this week's Kerring! it suggests it isn't Biffy above them, as they'd probably have namechecked them if they'd already been announced.

That's the sort of clue we've been waiting for for weeks. I believe they've played with Sabbath more than once though.

Also there's not really anything in the text suggesting it, but does the fact that they were discussing it make anyone feel more like SOAD will be subbing the third headliner (and not Biffy)? That might just be me.

JZDMk7J.pngI don't think it's Dillinger Escape Plan. It's not Soulfly. It's not Deftones. It isn't Hed PE. Uhhh... who's that last one :P

EDIT unless it's slipknot

EDIT 2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Slipknot_concert_tours who they've played with before, who also cancelled in 2008
