Thewayiam, what days bands played in the past doesn't affect the future. Even though its nice you agree that it's probably sabbath or LP, your justifications are strange.

The reason I don believe its Metallica is because they are writing a new album, haven't been announced for any other fests (which is strange for them!), which leads me to believe thy are taking a wee break THANK GOD.

Same for rage, although instead of writing a new album, they just wouldn't have anything to add to their previous 08 performance. It'd literally be indentical.

Prodigy, I just honestly don't think they are headline material. Plus 2 non guitar headliners would be a shocker.

I was thinking, even though i love Biffy Clyro i think any combination with them makes the lineup look weak apart from ACDC/Eminem/Biffy Clyro For some reason to me they just seem like subs even though i know they entirely deserve the chance and i really hope this propells them to be a fully fledged headline act. I honestly think R+L will need an insane set of Sub's to make the lineup Sabbath/Eminem/Biffy sell. They took a step in the right direction with SOAD, add The Prodigy as a sub and either Bloc Party or XX and it would be great.

From the acts being suggested as the 3rd headliner this is the order in excitement i'd have for each one.

AC/DC

The Who

Linkin Park

The Prodigy

Metalica

Black Sabbath

RATM

On the glasto forum earlier, Neil posted this:

"Someone who should know what's what is saying that Mumfords are headlining this year.

However, he's not got a 3rd headliner at all, which is odd - cos I'd very much expect him to be saying Arctics."

Obviously, Arctics are still heavily rumoured for Glasto and its likely they will play. However if they are not in fact playing Glasto, they are still on the rumours page for R+L....is there any other reason why they couldn't still be considered a possibilty?

The third headliner could be Metallica, because...

In a recent Kerrang interview, System of a Down said "We had a great offer and we know who the final headliner of the festival is, which is one of the reasons we agreed to do the show. They're a band we've played with once before years ago, and this will be a really good opportunity to have a fun time together"

SOAD played Creeping Death with Metallica during their headline set at Reading 2003, which was ten years ago. Metallica then played five years later in 2008 and it has again been five years since they last played.

Metallica are supposed to be recording a new album, however they have been confirmed to headline Soundwave Festival in Australlia in Feb/March this year.

Also, with one of the headliners this year being Eminem, the festival managers may have chosen a heavier third headliner.

I know this by no means shows it is certain they will play, however it does support the rumour.
