I don't see Green Day happening imo, if R&L had booked them I'm not sure they would agree to let them play other UK shows and the London date was meant to be a bunch but were canned due to Billy Joe's problems. Sabbath are still the front runners for the 3rd spot imo.

it's always possible that the plan for other shows was binned because they're doing R/L, rather than because of BJ's problems.

I don't know that that's true btw, but it's certainly within the possibilities.

As I said, I was going off the idea that it was those acts.

Those acts didn't first play ten years ago, they played major slots twelve and fifteen years ago. There's a major major difference. I'd say the people who give a toss are those who care about the future of the festival, and festivals in genre, because pushing a policy as discussed is massively damaging.

Smaller fests don't establish acts as big festival names, which is why big festivals need to give them a push. I'm not talking about acts who obviously aren't big enough, I'm talking about acts who can either take a big spot with a push or on the verge of headlining but are overlooked in favour of acts such as mentioned.
