The annoying thing is that prick has probably given some poor sod who is likely to lose their job a right load of grief and hassle and embarrassed them in fornt of other customers and come away from it thinking that he's fighting the man and taking on the system, all the while setting a great example to his grandson that if things aren't going your way then just make a public scene and a bit of noise and you'll get away with anything.

well, if you work fort a rip-off employer then it's not going to be any surprise if they rip you off and not just their customers. ;)

The simple fact is that employees put themselves in the position of getting sacked like that by never standing up to their bosses in the first place.

Of course I realise it's unfortunate for that individual, but that will always be the case unless individuals start to band together to use the power that they have. What goes around comes around, as they say.

Not surprised by Wood Green & Trocadero both closing Wood Green is never that busy and Trocadero is losing £200k a year apparently due to it's massive rent but I do like that it's open til midnight. The Croydon store is a surprise tho as it's constantly busy and has no competetion on that high street.

Looks like Play is closing down it's retail arm, moving specifically to a "marketplace":

Play.com is closing its retail operations in March as it transitions into a marketplace-only website, a move that is resulting in 214 employees losing their jobs. The Jersey-based company, one of the first online retailers to sell video games to the UK, told the BBC around 200 people are keeping their jobs at the new base of operations in Cambridge, England.

Full story here.

This is relatively old news, but I'd heard nothing about it.
